That might be the promo about bringing re-usable cups. No more 50c discount.
7-Eleven have jumped off the Green's bandwagon as it did not improve sales.

Nope. Quite the opposite. 50c offer no longer in the app, bring a cup for 50c off. There might be promos in the future. Email from the 27th March here

Yep, Coles Express is cheaper for fuel right now, and have better coffee… (and don't use those crappy cardboard coffee lids)

I think this is a rolling promo that has been constantly renewed ever since they increased the price on their coffees. Although there is an expiry date, in my experience it just gets extended with a new expiry date immediately after it's meant to expire.
I'm pretty sure I've never paid full price since they upped the price and have always gotten 50c off by scanning my app.
There is also a separate (non-stackable) promo where you can also get 50c off if you bring your own cup, but for most people, it's easier just to scan your app.

Briefly expired last week. $2 for a regular coffee. Tough times for everyone
Ah that explains it, I don't think I got one last week. I guess it's only 50c, but it still would have sucked to have had to pay the full price!
