Bought a new MacBook from the Good Guys, received 11% discount

Hey guys,

A week ago I bought a new 15" base model retina macbook pro from the good guys. Thought it might help some if I posted my receipt on here as I received a pretty good price considering there are no apple sales on atm. The base 15" retina is normally $2499 from apple direct or $2279 from the apple online student store. I walked into the good guys in Townsville and said to them, "JB often offers 10% off apple products, I haven't been there yet but I'm after a new retina macbook, what is the best price you could do?" The very helpful girl went and spoke to her manager and 5 minutes later I was walking out of the store with my new macbook for the grand total of $2220, a $279 saving or just over 11% off, for next to no effort.

Anyway here is a copy of my receipt, hopefully it can help a few people out. Just for information I paid by cash, well visa debit card but they regard it as the same thing.

    David as person that used to sell mac book before our shop close. 11% is very good buy found how to get easy to get 20% off. on good 15% off weekend and then 5%staff discount. or on staff sale 2 time a year.

      I"m assuming you meant something like this:

      David(referring to dwhes/OP), as a person that used to sell MacBooks before our shop closed; 11% is a very good discount; however I have found it to easily obtain 20% off through good 15% off weekends as well as 5% Staff Discount; or Staff Sales two times a year

      I"m also going to assuming that nikey2k27 worked at Dick Smith

    Old thread, but 15% off weekends? Don't things like that normally exclude Apple?

    I tried it just about 10 mins ago in JB Doncaster Westfield for 13" MBP with retina display but all I got was a big laughter and a "NO"

    He also glared at me and said " I have many customer to look after, if there is no more questions, I will pass this deal"

    I guess I have to be lucky to get someone nice to give me 11% deal :(

    I will try somewhere else and let you guys know how I go:)
