Maclaren Techno XLR was $599, now $349.98

Toys R Us has it on clearance in store Northland shopping centre VIC. I asked the assistant, she reckons should available in other stores too. I can't find information about this product on their website though.

  • How much HP does the Maclaren have?

    • depends on the driver -
      lewis hamilton? crap
      usain bolt - now we're talking ;)

      • Hamilton is a great driver too good for macleran

    • At that price I would say about 600KW ate its actually hand stitched using Italian leather.

It's a bargain by definition but its grossly overpriced for a stroller.

  • is there actually a decent CHEAP stroller out there? I think baby stuff/equipment is just a big rip off.

      We've got one of these:
      http://www.bigw.com.au/baby/strollers/4-wheeler-strollers/bp…

Does the job. Chuck the kid in and push - easy. Not sure I'd want to pay much more for a stroller.

      • +1 have the exact same one and its lasted 5 years now onto its 3rd kid. And I can guarantee you that it has not been well looked after. Its gets thrown around and man-handled at every opportunity, since its so cheap. I was not expecting it to last anywhere near this long with the treatment it gets. But damn I should have waited and saved $10, we paid $98 at Big W back then.

      • thats for when they are able to be strapped in while kicking and screaming isn't it? how about the stage when they are still soft and wobbly and have no control over their body functions?

        • For that stage you need a pram. ;)

        • Technically yes. But this cheap arse Big W "stroller" also reclines to almost flat. Almost flat is good for certain babies because it helps them keep the milk down, rather than power-chucking it all over everything - except somehow totally missing themselves.

  • How fast can it go?

  • I can't believe we are now resorting to using American words like strollers :( They are called prams here in Oz! Just like colour is spelt with a "u".

  • We've got a Maclaren - awesome because it's lightweight (so the missus can fold it up & chuck it in the boot.)
Being light & robust it's great for travelling.

  • Jenson reckons this one has loads of understeer.

  • Techno xt is expensive, but well worth the money. It has good length handles (which are adjustable), padded inserts, foot covers and a rain cover. It lays back flat and sits completely upright. It does everything a pram does, only it is lightweight, folds small and is narrow. It maneuvers with precision and is a joy to push. When my first son was born we researched for months to find the perfect pram, and we were not disappointed. It is still cheaper than the strider prams, does all they do (apart from take second seat / capsule) and aren't nearly as annoying.
