Just got this email from Citi:
We are replacing the terms and conditions relating to the “4th Night Free” benefit with the new “4th Night on Us” benefit. Some of the key changes to the benefit include:
the way you book your accommodation to receive the benefit. To redeem this benefit and receive a credit for a night’s stay, you need to book at least four (4) consecutive nights of accommodation by using your Citi Prestige Credit Card and enter the promo code “CitiPrestige” at www.luxuryescapes.com/au . The benefit is capped at 4 redemptions in a calendar year.
calculation of the credit value for the one night will be based on the average nightly room rate for the total nights’ stay. The credit will usually be issued within 14 days of completion of payment.
introduction of a cap of up to $1,000 credit per redemption.
The variation notice provides full details of the change, as they apply to your Citi Prestige Credit Card.
Seems like they absolutely gutted the benefit. We used to be able to book any hotel through Expedia on the phone, but moving forward we can only book on this website with much less options and generally higher prices. And also the introduction of a $1000 cap.
Any thoughts?
