    Hot Deal Alert
    Prime Exclusive

Meh. Was $119.48 2.5 weeks ago. Nothing exclusive just a standard sale.

    • -1

oops sorry! came late to the party.. i just started to look at it last week.. still not a bad price i guess.

      removed the "hot deal"

  • +1

    For 55-65" TVs

    • +2

Standard sale price, probs inflated RRP just like the PRISM+

  • +3

I with they have an easier way to switch it on and off - doing it via the app is pain.

    • +7

I bet they're not even thorry about it

    • +1

I use it with Google Home/Assistant and it turns on/off via voice command.

    • I have the Govee DreamviewT1, and the settings on the app (under Video) has one part called "Blank Screen Settings". When that is turned on, the device will switch off when there is no change of image on the TV, and vice versa

  • -2

Why do I need this? I've been watching TV for decades without a backlight.

Anyway this doesn't appear to be a bargain as mentioned above by m9.

    • +3

That's like saying why do I need another watch when I have one already, or a mobile etc.
Wants & needs are a personal justification at the end of the day.

Correct on the "bargain" side of things though.

      • -3

Nah it's like saying why do I need LED lights on the back of my watch.

        • +1

That would actually be pretty cool.

    • +1

It's actually really good. I bought the previous model on sale for $80 and it looks so much better with the lights. Not as harsh, everything's nicer. Not sure about being more immersive, but it's definitely more relaxing and a better experience.

  • Has anyone used one of these? What do you think?

I used to have LED strips on the back of my previous TV and i thought it helped with eye strain at night.

    • +2

I have the previous model that has been on sale prior for less & enjoy using it.
Many customization options via the app, can also be synced to music etc.

  • I just stuck one of these behind my 55" TV and call it a day. Not smart by any means but lights up for a cinematic feel.

  • Why is it so exxy?

Isnt this like $10 on Temu?

    • +1

Not sure which Temu versions you're talking about but it might be more expensive because it comes with the camera that reads the screen and sends the correct colours to the backlights. I'm going to assume higher quality ones can do this with less delay between colour changes and be able to display more vibrant and accurate colours.

I have the T1 version of this product and I enjoy it.

  • +1

The term backlight is a bit ambiguous. This is better know as ambilight, but it is kinda a philips thing so I assume Govee stuck to backlight. These sync with the image on the TV and enhance the visual experience. It is a personal choice though, some find it distracting while others feel more immersed.

Here is my DIY attempt 6yrs ago.

    • +2

Mate thats a good job on the DYI

  • +1

Need a deal on the T2 for 75-85.

  • How's the response time on this?

I got the Magnavox one for my kids PC when it was clearance for $25 Bunnings. I like the effect but it's a little bit laggy.

    • I have the T1 and I can't see any delay
