Uber Question about Fare

Hey guys, my nephew just came back from Turkey and an interesting question.

He took Uber to the airport (total 2 people total). At first a driver accepted then got cancelled and then driver B accepted then cancelled then A then B again. In the end driver B turned up and took them to the airport.

On the bill/receipt it states 4 drivers taken…does anyone know what it means? Does it mean he ended up paying more for the fare? I initially thought they may have just put in 4 passengers.

Cheers

    how is his hairline looking?

  • As a Rideshare driver, it's hard to explain what goes through a drivers mind. It's in the driver's best interest to keep their AR above 85%, as they can usually see if the fare is worthwhile. IE Imagine driving 25 mins for a 5 minute fare and only getting $7?

Some drivers run 2 Apps (EG Uber and Didi). If a more lucrative fare come through (and they hadn't paused the other App), they probably accepted the didi ride, which then may have been cancelled by the driver/rider?

Other points to consider, was your brother in a safe legal pick up point? (IE not a Bus Stop/Taxi zone/No stopping/Loading zone etc).

Did your brother book a pickup for 4 passengers, or a larger vehixcle option? Uber drivers don't have a way of adjusting passenger amounts as far as I know. I doubt you would have paid more the fare, let alone if the driver was paid more. Uber would have taken the 27% cut regardless.
