Looking for a fault detection device (for my elderly siblings) that can call for help via an Android phone, possibly through Bluetooth. Any info would be much appreciated. (I did Google but didn’t seem to find anything with good reviews)
Any Fall Detection Device That Calls for Help via an Android Phone?

Latest Pixel watch has fall detection - I think.
Samsung watch does it too.
Galaxy watch , these wearables may not be as reliable as purpose built systems

I noticed this a while ago while checking them out for my father.
"But despite the advertising, some test results and feedback from our members show that personal alarms may not be as safe as they claim. We tested personal alarms for several years and were disappointed with the results, consistently finding these products to be unreliable and difficult to use.
So concerned were we by the inconsistent performance of a product bought explicitly for safety that we have decided to no longer publish these reviews."

The old pendant alarms make people feel better, as elderly may be afraid of having a fall, and being unable to get help. In reality, when this happens, they most likely do not use the call buttons anyway.
The way to avoid this problem might be to conduct regular drills, so they get used to using the device, and are more likely to remember it in an emergency situation.
Will they always have their phone on them or will it always be in bluetooth range?
we got mum a Fall Detection Watch. its a little bulky, but bigger than standard garmin sport watch. watch was maybe $450ish partly subsidised by MyAgedCare
has inbuilt simcard on telstra, which has a $40 annual renewal fee.
its a a bit too sensitive which is annoying but when it detects a fall, which can be cancelled within a few seconds, it sends a text message to the 5 named contacts and automatically calls by order of priority. if no one answers, it calls 000. You can talk through the watch speaker.
has inbuilt gps and the text tells you location.
we wanted something that wasn't dependent on having access to a phone. phone won't help unless she falls with the phone in her hand.

MePACS. Grandmother got it via a HCP as she was having falls. The 24/7 phone support is better than it just calling 000 on your behalf.
