Whatever the answer you're looking for it's not going to be pretty.

Ever since moving away from the Iphone 6's platform screen replacement costs have gone through the roof.
I broke my screen so many times i had the replacement down to 15 minutes and a $20 screen off ebay.

    Seems like $169 is par

But yeah as previously said, Googling is a lot easier than getting onto Ozbargain and posting.

    • Where you getting screens for $20?

Maybe they're cracking so often because they are $20 lol

      • Aliexpress

Could buy like 5 of them and still be fine

        • True.

But why are you cracking it so often?

I'm not so sure they are 'A+++ Quality'

          • @JimB: They were the same quality as the real screens (had it changed at the Apple store twice before and they were 1:1 in terms of quality and glass strength).

It's an iPhone, Apple assume you are rich, just buy a new one ;)

    • that $45 screen isn't good quality.

It's like when you crash your Porsche and then going to TEMU for an aftermarket headlight. It will work but quality isn't there.

Just keep in mind you are going to loose Truetone after any after market screen replacement. Doesn't matter how good or expensive the screen is this is going to happen unless the screen is replaced by Apple. This is due to parts serialisation and paring and Apple claims this is to prevent the sale of stolen phone parts - $$Yeah Right$$

The only way an aftermarket repair shop can enable true tone back is by using a donor screen form another iPhone and by copying the Turetone data from your screen using a copier. Most repair shops do not care or won't tell you about this. Personally this is not a big issue for me but if you aren't prepared to live with auto screen brightness control then you only have Apple to get the repair done.
