The Sizzle Daily Tech Email Newsletter

I know a lot of Ozbargainers already have a paid subscription to The Sizzle which in itself is a good indication of its value.

I had to laugh when I read a line from today's issue: "Microsoft continues to take a big fat shit all over Windows, this time placing ads within the Windows 11 Start Menu".

It is so refreshing to read an honest account like this once in a blue moon.

Especially as companies always seem to spin items that are detrimental to their customers as being to their benefit.

Congrats to the author Anthony, and also for his dedication in providing this daily service.

On a related note, since the latest automatic update of Microsoft Edge Browser, I am finding that Bing has injected itself again into address bar searches.

Even though I have all the settings correctly set for Google to be the address bar search engine, it redirects to Bing each time. Almost like it has been hardcoded into the browser. I get a sys redirector temporarily appear in the address bar, then Bing.

I notice the quality of Bing searches is inferior to Google, even with all the touted AI improvements.

  • Tried to sign up for the free trial to The Sizzle.

    It doesn't work.

And I'm not going to give them any of my money without some idea what I'm going to get for it.

  • We know. So stop using Windows as your main interface.
You can still run a VM or remote server for any required apps that won't run in a compatibility layer.
