Monitor Recommend for Mac + Windows

I had a 27 inch 2721qs for a while and enjoyed it.

Unfortunately, I found out today it's not compatible with my new macbook… sent me on a goose chase.

Can anyone recommend a good monitor (32'' or 34'') compatible with mac AND windows.

All i do is program, browse, watching some shows so not really after a gaming screen.

Also any opinion on 34 vs 32? is 34 much better. Also im on ozbargain, so…, something of a decent price is a good.

Cheers, ozbargainers.

EDIT:

device: M2 pro macbook
Cable- dp to hdmi and hdmi to hdmi (both tried)
CABLE MATTERS USBC TO DISPLAY PORT - don't know how to bold
reason why i don't think is cable is because my x1 carbon has no issues linking to monitor.
Seems driver issue.
Can someone suggest a good cable i can try buying?

  • Have you tried this monitor with a HDMI connection?

    • yes, hdmi performs better than usb-c (usb-c just goes black every few seconds)

but the hdmi goes ok for let's say 10 mins, then it starts flickering

      • What Mac you got, what cable you using.

        • hi i edited post with details to have it in one place. What cable would you recommend that I try?

      • I have the same monitor and also had issues. IIRC, I ended up using HDMI.

My setup was Mac > Thunderbolt Dock > Monitor via HDMI. That monitor is no longer used with a mac now so I can't check setup details.

See this section on rtings for mac compatibility.

  • Are you using the correct USB-C cable? You know that there are different USB-C cables, right? They might all look similar on the outside, but the internals are different. You really only know from the packaging.

      • From Dell support:
        * Turn the MacBook and S2721QS off
        * Disconnect every cable (including the power cable) from the S2721QS
        * Press the S2721QS power button in for 8 seconds
        * Reconnect the power cable to the S2721QS
        * Turn the MacBook on
        * Reconnect the USB Type-C to DP cable from the MacBook to the S2721QS DP in port
        * Turn the S2721QS on. What happens?

  • My S2721QS works fine connected Thunderbolt (Mac) to DisplayPort (Dell). Second display HDMI to HDMI
