Just googled this too as never heard of Filmore, only sk8 high. Seems the filmore are a cheaper, worse version of the Sk8 highs.

Yep done the same needed more information for model, pass too as sk8-hi often drop to around this price & reading better even though looking similar. Easy way tell difference no skateboard on tongue…
I have a pair of sk8-hi's, I don't know what I'm doing wrong but they are an absolute nightmare to put on. The laces are very soft cotton so don't get pulled through easily and with the very high cut they really need to be loose to actually get over the heel. They look good but the ordeal I go through every time I need to put the damn things on has them relegated to the back of the cupboard. YMMV
Only had a pair once, agreed they are difficult.
Just get converse.I think that's why many I see out and about are worn fairly loose.

Why does Vans not sell the Filmore in their own stores or website?
They are what is known as a BFO, or Built for Outlet shoe, where they are designed similar to a mainline shoe, filmores being the Sk8 line with the regular being the Sk8-Low and the Hi being the Sk8-Hi. Why they do this I couldn’t tell you but that’s why you won’t see them in Vans stores other than outlets. Side note the Ashers are made taller than the Classic Slip On so if you have thicker feet the Ashers are great.
