How Often Does The PS5 Go on Sale?

In the middle of revamping one of the rooms in the house and wanted to add a PS5 into the mix. I have a capable 3080 system but I do miss the casual lounge sessions. With that said, I thought prices would be a little better for the PS5? They seem super high to me, how often do deals pop up for these systems?

I have also seen rumours of the PS5 Pro which is also making me think twice of a purchase. Marketplace is full of scams so for the sake of a couple hundred I feel it safer/better to buy new and have the peace of mind with warranty aswell.

Is this a really crappy time to be looking for a PS5. Keen to hear your thoughts..

You may as well wait for the Pro. It's not like the regular PS5 is particularly cheap, and there's actually not many exclusive games for it. Helldivers is fun, but your PC will run that.

    • Leaning towards that way unless an awesome deal pops up. I haven’t had a PlayStation for a long time now so the exclusives do interest me (Spider-Man, God of War, Last of Us, Horizon)

      • Well you could get it now then just sell it and upgrade to Pro later, you'd only be out a couple of hundred max, probably less if you bundle it with games you're sick of by then.

        • If a good deal pops up I’ll pull the trigger but no way at these RRP prices 😅

      • Worth noting none of these is actually an exclusive any more, they're all on PC and they'll run great on your 3080 system. Latest spidey isn't on PC yet, but Horizon Forbidden West released recently and the excellent Ghost of Tsushima will hit PC in the next month or so!

        • Spiderman 2 is on DODI already no? Could have sworn I saw it yesterday…

  • Once every four years…

    • So the Pro this year I take it?

  • How far away is the PC to the intended PS5 room? Can you run a 65 feet HDMI+controller cable to it instead? I was doing it for my telly downstairs for a bit and it worked fine, not an elegant but a cheap solution nonetheless.

    • PC is right next to the TV connected via HDMI and I have a Xbox controller connected too which is why I’m not in a rush for the PS. The current setup does suffice however as you know it’s not “elegant” as I have to constantly switch display profiles etc and I also would like to play the PS exclusives

  • the pro will probably be hard to get unless you are super early with your preorder
look at getting a second hand ps5 then you could sell it when pro comes out and get back most of your money
