Want to sell my Seagate HDD, not sure of price

Hi,

Today I purchased a WD My passport 2TB and want to sell my 500GB Seagate FreeAgent Go that I wont be using anymore. I've only done 4 backups with it and that's it. I remember buying it at JB Hifi in September 2009 for $149,-

I saw a secondhand black version being sold on gumtree for $50,- Do you think that's an acceptable price? Or should I go for $40,- instead? Mine is silver by the way.

out of warranty you'd start at $30 if lucky

i mean you can buy a new one with 3yrs for $50-$60 so why save $10-20 if your not a broke ass bum

  • Hmmmm I found the cheapest seagate 500GB being $79,- on staticice…… Oh well, I'll put up $40,- and can always drop or say ono.

Hate to promote eBay, since they're bastards, but used hard disks rarely sell cheap there and the completed items search is a good way to see what the market's paying. Used 500GB Freeagent Go in "very good condition" (no indication of warranty) just sold for $54.50 + postage.

Of course, on eBay you'd only be left with about $48 of that, and on gumtree you don't have to worry as much about the buyer changing their mind or breaking the item, and getting their money back.
