  • Fan noise is going to be loud and inbuilt speaker sound is going to be very low. This is to be expected at this price point.

Considering there is a comparable projector as a lightning deal for $76, this is a pretty decent deal

Good lord. I've had pricier pizza.

    • +25

Please refrain from eating the projector

      • +18

I enjoy consuming them but it almost always ends in me projectorile vomiting. 🤮

        • +1

          VHD?

      • +2

        I am in flavour country

  • Price is low enough for me try this thing out. I have always been curious on the quality of these mini cheap projectors. Thanks OP.

  • +8

I've got a similar projector, works well in a dark room!
Note that its 1080p input support, actual projected resolution is 720p

    • How does it run? I have a projector from this deal and while it is very very bright(compared to normal lamp projectors in eco mode), it has screen tearing every second in any zooming or panning scenes.

      • +1

I don't have this exact unit, but the projector I got (via Coles best buy) a couple years ago, hasn't had any tearing issues, i've only ever used it with a Chromecast and not tested any other inputs.

    • "Full HD Ready" or some shit we used to use in branding 10+ years ago. But at this price you aren't buying it for the fidelity.

    • this stopped me pulling the trigger.

  • Worth a punt at this price and can connect external speaker. Thanks OP

  • +1

This is one of those times Ozbargain gets me to buy something i dont need bit i am like it would be cool enough to own and it is cheap enough for me to buy

  • +2

My benchmark for 720p native is $10 🤣

  • +2

Good enough to go full feral bogan mode and leave in my alfresco under roof cover without caring if it breaks for a few movie nights projected on a white bedsheet without needing to bother moving around a shitload of cables from inside.

    • From the reviews, it looks like it comes with a projector screen too!

  • Wow it comes with a stand too!

  • What's the cashback percentage for this?

  • +1

    And gone…

  • Apparently these cheapies are over powered re led’s and they create a lot of harmful blue light. I have one from the $19 deal and am a bit concerned, might spring for a xgimi at some point.

    • Get a blue light filter

      • I did that, but then it became extremely hard to see the screen.

    • Can anyone with more insights comment on this? Was planning to get a cheapie projector for the kids. Thought it was cheap due to the quality not due to it being harmful.

No evidence blue light is harmful.

Most exposure of blue light is from the sun.

    • +6

      This sounds like absolute quackery.

    • +2

Even if it does and it is harmful, you're not staring into the light like a phone or TV, you're looking at the projected image on a surface.

    • +1

The fact you specifically mentioned xgimi when they have long winded articles on their website about blue light and promoting the blue light safety of their products means you're the victim of their BS marketing spin.

  • Cheers. Got one to test

    Good Projector for the price

Very good value at this price, you will need a dark room to play, I am using Google Chromecast, no problem with 1080p video

I keep missing these cheap projector deals! Congrats to all who managed to nab one :)

  • How does this compare to the #1 selling projector on Amazon? The below is currently at $115, is it twice as better or are they both on par?

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Projector-Portable-Horizontal-Corr…

    • This youtube review below can describe that type of projector. The short answer is if only it had tripod mount so you can project it onto the wall as straight angle as possible. Meanwhile normal projectors have image offset you can place on table or on ceiling and they don’t have that problem of blur.

  • damn it! the deal got ozbargained, never quick enough for these deals!

  • LOL they can't sell these from white vans anymore…

  • aww been waiting for this and its sold out :(

  • Dang, missed this one. Need something like this for pattern projecting!

  • Got it this afternoon but can't turn it on.. anyone having issues?

    • Mine works and turns on perfectly. Did you jam the cord in far enough?

    • Mine works but has a small mark on the lens 😞.

  • Mine works and I watched Dune on it. The fan isn't too noisy, the picture is great for the price and the volume is reasonable.
It's not super bright but bright enough in a dark room. I don't know what the actual lumens are.
It seems brighter than my friends Nebula capsule.

For the price I'm very impressed!

    • Not bad for the price. Watching a movie rn. How far have kept projector from the screen?

    • Did everyone get the same projector? QKK brand? Mine didn’t come with a free 100” fabric screen even if it had a sticker saying so. Love how tiny it is.

I wish it had lens zoom lever as it was a hassle to reposition it as far back to fit the whole wall, and also wish it had eco mode or a way to lower the fan noise. No other problems.

      • +1

Same here. QKK brand. No fabric screen.
No optical zoom at this price, but I didn't expect it either.

    • What I like about this projector after using it, is it only uses as little as 50W as much as a electric fan lol. What I don’t like is the hassle of correctly setting the aspect ratio “Allow Display Mode Changes” on a ipad. Because different movies and content is stretched or squished..

@tanksinatra: What are your custom settings? I find my colour temperature and picture settings as accurate as I can get it by eye (I don’t own a projector colorimeter) to the warm True Tone setting on both latest ipad and iphone.

My custom preference might seem very dark and less bright / less fatiguing so needs very dark room but it’s as close as realistic I put it, can other people leave in the comments what settings they set it at?

@Ozbfan: My settings has less blue, please give it a try. But my settings only good for dark room.

The reason why I prefer using custom settings is because straight out of the box the colours looks way off too vivid and have some loss of detail so need to dial back contrast and a colour or two. It’s like tuning or calibrating the EQ for Audio to sound balanced and hear better details so to speak.

  • Has anyone managed to get the bluetooth setting to work? I saw it mentioned on the listing and I'm trying to pair it to my UE Boom for better sound but I can't find the bluetooth option.
