I saw some older posts where OzBargain'ers recieved beans from Grand Cru with an old roast date - I will report back roast dates and quality once I recieve my order!

Either way, seems like a good deal with lots of roasters moving to smaller size bags for single origin (200 grams or even 150g for non-special roasts like Gesha).

UPDATE: Order placed 03/05, recieved 07/05: roast dates: 29/04 29/04 and 22/04

  Pickup is also available from Chatswood (NSW). Not sure of their opening hours though, I'll get some if I can pickup tomorrow!

  Old coffee is not a deal!!! I received beans nearly 4 months old. Others have reported the same. The beans should NEVER have gone out the door. Then they make it hard to contact them (website contact form has been missing for months) and they don't respond. I wouldn't risk it.

    Sounds like you had some seriously bad luck; I just recieved my order 07/05, of the three items roast dates were 22/04 and 2x 29/04. Generally speaking, since my order was placed on 03/05 I would accept the 2x 29/04 but 22/04 for a specialty roaster is old and they should be upfront about roast date!

      If you read previous "deals" you'll see plenty of people had "seriously bad luck". This, plus their lack of communication, means they don't have my business.

          @atliens: Keep an eye out on here as many roasters post. Lime Blue & Airjo are the most popular options. I've used both, leaning more towards Lime Blue.
