"I know the price is not really a bargain" Huh? Not really what the description on Ozbargain should include.

haha..I mean it is more expensive than past posts. But $25 for a 32GB USB is still great though ;)

  • Meh, fairly gimmicky crap.
The read and write speeds are most likely going to be appalling.

    • I does not really concern about the reading speed since i only use it for storing my word files and photos.

Then what's the point of a 32GB flash drive?

        • +1

Take your entire music collection to work, as MP3/Ogg/AAC files. Or, if your collection isn't so big, as Flac files, or even uncompressed WAV files. Perfect use for low-speed USB drives.

Even if your audio is uncompressed, you only need a read speed of 0.176Mbytes/second for CD-quality sound. The data rate for compressed files is even smaller.

Admittedly, filling it up with music could be very slow - but 32G at 4Mbytes/second is less than 3 hours, and you only do that once. After that, adding an entire album, uncompressed, is about 3 minutes.

        • I was referencing this:

…storing my word files and photos.

So as much as I appreciate the reply on music files, you took my comment out of context.

I'm not quite so "excited by its looking"

I know the price is not really a bargain…

then why post it on ozbargain…? lol

  • I know my keyring is full enough without attaching a usb stick in the shape of a key. I dont suppose the USB port would take too kindly to the weight of a bunch of keys attached either!

Well judging by the description, this would be better off on OzExcitedByItsLooking.com :P

Thats not a real site :(

  • Function over fashion on these forums please.

  • Looks like a few people have had a hard Monday ;) That being said the price and functionality certainly detract from the 'looks'.

familiar? i'm surprised no one recognized this is the same usb key as the freebie here http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/83155 except that was 4gb, i got mine last week, better than i expected, all metal, has a good weight, not benchmarked yet, i figure it was free so any speed is good enough for the price i paid!

    • +2

i benchmarked the free 4gb ones. they are posted on the thread you linked to.

      black ones Writing speed: 4.79 MByte/s Reading speed: 15.2 MByte/s H2testw v1.4

      silver ones Writing speed: 5.49 MByte/s Reading speed: 20.9 MByte/s H2testw v1.4

quite reasonable, even better caus they were free.

  • I have two of these Verbatim Store'N'Go's and an 8GB one.
Can be had for less than $25 shipped I think. Just more reliable and smaller.
    Also known as Tuff'N'Tiny.

  • dodgeball rally. yeah great for lugging around in your pocket with keys attached. as soon as those contact points wear down its game over sambo.

  • it looks like a cheap unbranded USB

  • $25 is $25 more than $0. :I've a 1ooMBps write/extreme on its way over from HK, real soon now.

  • if the body is made from plastic and made to look like metal, it is going to be crap. i have one, and it feels like breaking if i let a fart that is overly loud whilst the usb key is in my pants.

    • +3

if they are anything like the free ones that looks the same given away last week they are metal and very sturdy (ive tried to break mine in my fingers and couldnt)

  • +2

umm.. i got exactly the same look USB from promotionsonly for FREE. 4gb though it's free.

I'll "stick" to my 50cents/GB rule as a bargain. Thanks :)

  • I like the idea of having a key usb except that its kogan and i don't trust the quality.

Anyone know where i can get something similar but out of a better quality.

Size doesn't really matter or speed. Just for convenience.?

  • Please note this is NOT an LaCie iamaKey.

    • -1

lacie key is so much better built.
