Thanks to couger for making me aware of this shop in the LaCie deal (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/84550).

Edit: well, as the comments below indicate, the deal may be too good to be true so it may be a good idea to hold off on buying this.

    Wooo!

There have been questions about the legitimacy of this brand in the past, one user reported buying 32GB onQue branded memory sticks only to find out they were 64MB.

If you read from that post on, you'll see that he ended up doing a h2testw pass on the stick and it failed miserably.

i thought it sounded a little to good to be true

Just noticed the final comment on the above thread is from another user that has received theirs and also found them to be fake.

This doesn't mean the ones in this deal from this vendor are also fake, just go in knowing they might be. Heck, at this price I'm tempted but I can do without the hassles of having to return the item and chase a refund so I'll be erring on the side of caution.

The comments in this thread also question the claim of them being a USB3.0 drive. It seems it's just bad news all round with onQue.

  • I really want this to not be too good to be true, but I won't be buying unless I get multiple ozbargainers buying and reporting success

    $29
Minus a minimum $10 deal site commission or $10 sellers profit =
    $19
Minus a minimum $3 for postage and packaging =
$16 for the supplyer to buy, and import, a USB 3 64GB 'Flash' Drive =

  • These have the reliability span of a peanut.

Hey, Peanuts ran reliably for 50 years!

Bought two of these from Cudo. Currently in the process of running H2testw (and will clipboard the results later), but I can confirm that it's certainly NOT USB 3.0! (sustains 4.93MB/sec)

    these won't work… don't trust it…

wow, that is one cheap stick

it sounds too good to be true….

  • I recently purchased an onQue “64GB USB3″ flash drive via a Cudo offer.
Problem was the item I received was a fake 1GB unit loaded with special software intended to mimic & falsely display the non-existent advertised 64 GB capacity. (used the H2testw utility)
(Full details on this widespread scam are documented on the sosfakeflash site)
    Supplier of this fake: http://mdjdirect.com/

Full credit to Cudo in this instance for an immediate apology & full refund!
