Webjet Expedia Booking.com Hotel Booking Sites?

Hello,

I currently use booking.com or Expedia based on pricing plus visa or MasterCard 10% off. Anyone currently using web jet to book their hotels through and what would be the benefit, discount code, their experience, any rewards?

If you have another site where you book hotels, please share keen to know more so i can find the best deal or discount hacks.

Thanks in advance

it's a consolidating site for flight , car rental , and hotels booking sites.

tap in the dates/details and hit go, and then it provides links to some of the other booking sites with that data already entered.

    worth a look.

    sometimes reveals great deals.

Hotels.com which is Expedia but you get a free night after every ten and the prices are the same as Expedia. I always compare with direct through the hotel and other booking sites

I usually use something like Expedia or Google Hotels to get an idea of some of the hotels I might like to stay at, then compare prices through the aggregator vs booking direct with a hotel. Even though it doesn't give rewards, I find a lot of hotels have a price beat guarantee and have prices the same as one of the other booking platforms. They might even offer additional perks (e.g. free/discounted parking, breakfast, welcome drink) for booking direct through them.

I have also found that the Mastercard 10% off deals through Expedia seem to be based off of the absolute highest rates, and don't always work out as a saving, though YMMV.

  • I use the booking sites to review options, then book directly with the property or whomever offers the best deal on fully refundable. Closer to your actual stay, convert refundable to non-refundable to reduce your room rate (where possible). Beware of Booking.com, I've found their current level of customer service to be appalling.

I like to browse Booking.com and Expedia, however, always book directly through the hotel or resort or wherever you want to stay, even if they are the same price. There are just about always perks for doing this, as all the aggregation sites take their chuck of change. From experience, this has ranged from later checkout times to extra bottles of bubbly and $100+ gift vouchers.

I use Google Hotels. I choose hotels by browsing the map. Google Hotels tells you which booking site has the cheapest price. A lot of the time the price is cheaper if you click through Google Hotels than going to the booking site directly. I also believe Google Hotels is independent unlike Trivago which is owned by Expedia.

    • Is there a way to make the currency show as AUD. I went through all google documentation and I can't get prices to show AUD

  • Booking.com last year with the Genius discount plus cashback was really good. This year not so much. Expedia have ended up having better prices than the 15% off Genius discount.

  • Dog and Bone: Lift receiver, dial hotel, see what they offer!

    • sometimes good, sometimes tell you to book on the website.

  • Rate parity agreements vary by country so you need to research your destination. I gather Australia is bound by narrow rate parity contracts that limit the accommodation providers ability to undercut the online travel agents. They're generally only able to discount through their respective loyalty programmes, or for punters who make phone bookings at short notice. I made a bunch of hotel booking in Europe for last December, fully refundable via Booking.com. Plenty of things went wrong but occupancy was low so there were no negative consequences. One example worth sharing: I cancelled my refundable and booked direct with a hotel in St Moritz which enabled me to bundle their railway station shuttle pickup and add half-board for pretty much the same rate.
