Best Way to Spend David Jones AmEx Points

Hey ozbargain, I’m not that much familiar with credit cards and got my first one with David Jones AMEx.

I have 135,000 points accumulated since I bought most of my furniture and groceries petrol and clothes on this card last few years.

As you may know David jones and Amex partnership is ending with the cards being disabled soon.

I like to shop at David jones for clothes , is that still the same bang for buck to use up my points ?

It seems the Amex rewards portal still lists DJ as a partner.

Any advice on whatever you did if you are going through the same process

Purchase things that you already need/use, like groceries for example, then use the points to pay off statements. That way you're directly saving some $$ that you can put to use.

Generally unless you’re using it for flights might as well use it against charges

  I thought the points were more valuable if used at DJs? Can you remember this when you first joined ?

Can you push points to a frequent flyer program i.e virgin or qantas ?

Otherwise go treat yourself. You’ve gone to the the effort of accumulating them. Now is the time to reward yourself.
