Hidden Gems in Barcelona?

I will be in Barcelona for a couple of weeks to attend a seminar.

This will be the second time visit. I was there last year as well. I managed to visit the Sagrada and Casa Batllo last time.

This time, I am thinking about exploring some hidden gems. Any idea about those? Or any website to check those places?

    hidden gems in barcelona?

There is a rumour that a bag of stolen rubies is buried next to a tree by the lake at Ciutadella Park.

    • Yeah I tried to find some diamond or gem mines or something in Barcelona but couldn't really find anything.

      • Should I gear up with my excavation tools to find buried treasure?

        • If you're looking for hidden gems, then it couldn't hurt.

Not sure if you’re into food. When I went a few years ago stumbled on a random list of food places to visit that were amazing was less of a touristy website, def less tourists at these places but all were very welcoming.

Can’t remember if this was the exact one as it was a couple of years ago. But it looks about right.

La pubilla was a great little spot we would never have found on our own. Full of locals.

Goliard was pretty cheap and the food was great. It took a bit of finding and probably best to book as it gets super busy. It was that good we went twice. It’s a three course menu includes a glass of wine.

A pluma was amazing. Think fancy chef who opened his own little thing. Only got to get takeaway but would have loved to have had a chance to dine in.

Quimet I quimet was quite a tapas experience.

Not sure if you’re into food.

Most people have food once in a while…

      • Some people aren't "into it" though. I'd eat Soylent Green every day if I could, just to simplify my life and save money. If I were rich I'm sure food is a fun thing to be into, but I'm all about the utility for now.

        • Some people aren't "into it" though.

          why not?

          • @jv: Are you "into" the air your breath? Sure you need it to live, but you're not an "airie", you don't watch "air porn" on YouTube.

            • @AustriaBargain:

Are you "into" the air your breath?

              Definitely !!!

              Have you tied Perri-Air ?

The 10,000BC vintage is to die for !!!!!!

    • Our group arranged a food tour. I haven't got the details yet. Hopefully, they will include some places from here.

Not exactly a hidden gem, but did you do Park Güell?

    • Yes, I was there last time.

  • You can ramble the Las Rambla.
    Have a Siesta.
If the food gets you there is a market that sells Shitake mushrooms, yes they spell it with a single i.

Falling Asleep in Las Rambla seems like a good recipe for getting your wallet stolen :D

There are some back alleys behind Placa Reial where you will find it again empty of course and soaked in urine where all the homeless do their business.

The zoo is pretty good and if you go to the chocolate museum you get a free piece of chocolate.
