Bargain History

Not sure if this is the historical lowest price, although i believe it may be after looking up SteamDB, at least directly through Steam.
For me personally well worth it, very reminiscent of the old Roller Coaster Tycoon games I grew up with :)

IsThereAnyDeal is the best place to check PC games for price history. According to them this is the ATL. They also track bundles and this has appeared in one, Humble Choice March 2020.

Thank you for sharing. I didn’t know about this but I’m not a hardcore gamer.

GG Deals is a great site too.

Awesome game, really enjoyed this one. Although I wish they would bring back 2D versions of this like RCT and RCT2

    • grab the roller coaster tycoon classic, is a remake of RCT 1 and 2…

OpenRCT2 project. "OpenRCT2 is the open-source adaption of the classic hit RollerCoaster Tycoon 2. Including online multiplayer, fast-forwarding and numerous bug fixes."

This is what I've been using, its fantastic.

RCT is still the best imo. I don't think the game will ever get old for me. I've been using OpenRCT2 and it works fine.

Wasn't RCT programmed entirely in assembly by a computer savant in an insane asylum on an antique typewriter or something? I might be remembering it wrong.

      • It definitely was.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ts4BD8AqD9g

Bargain… takes me back to the tycoon games I played in the 80s and 90s

:( Ridiculous price. Paid $45 a few years ago. Only put 6 hours in (got distracted by Anno 1800).

  • +1

eh for just over 3 bucks ill give it ago i used to ensure rollercoster Tycoon

    • +6

      ensure it did what?

      • +3

weird spelling autocorrect i was suppose to say 'enjoy'

  • Brilliant game, and a ridiculous price!

  • +7

I was excited to buy it, only to find out I already bought it and never played it :(

    • +4

You can buy for me if you want the joy of buying it still? 😂

    • +1

Even worse for me; not only did I find I already owned it, but apparently I even played it for 8 hours back in 2016…

Jesus christ am i seeing this right. 'Subscribe to planet coaster'?? what a joke lmao

    • +8

7.50 a month. Hmm, starting to see why this is $3.

    • +3

You can buy all the DLC outright, or just play it without and it's not required. It looks to just be that stupid 'battle pass' concept is infecting every game.

Runs on MAC OS as well.

    • Can it run on mac os for this game? I just bought roller-coaster but not this game? Anyone?

    • does it run well though

  • +1

All these games I didn't have time to play are now either cheap or free! Pays to wait I guess.

  • +2

I went to buy it, and Steam tells me "You already own this game". No clue when I bought it, and I have 0 hours on it. Like most of my Steam games!

      Humble Choice?

  • Almost 10 year old game. It's very good but they should have made a sequel by now.

Instead, Frontier put their faith in Formula One management sim which didn't make money and they had to lay off significant number of staff because of declining revenue. And former staff heavily criticised the company for how they did that. It's not all about money, but people were begging them to at least update Planet Coaster, but they left it behind.

Speaking of Steam sales, just noticed this game is heavily discounted right now, was $73 now $11… good reviews but I have not played it.

    • That game looks great.

  • For the amount of hours I have put into this game over the years, it's very much worth this price tag. Sure it's older now and you will feel some restrictions in gameplay, however, they built a very solid game that still holds up.
