  • Depends on your needs :p

I've been on Liveconnected and Vaya (~$11 plans) and both have been fine for my needs. Moved from Liveconnected to Vaya cos Liveconnected don't allow int'l roaming on their plans.

Vaya hands down. Here are the reasons somebody listed on whirlpool:

                                        LC vs Vaya

    • Vaya $1 Cheaper per Flexi Plans
    • Vaya has telephone support number
    • Vaya has 4G plans
    • 30 second billing
    • Vaya doesn't charge to change plans downwards (and is currently working with the upwards one to so they are fee free to change)
    • Vaya offer Global Roaming
    • Vaya almost instant billing of data usage (Vaya is 15 mins behind, versus 48 hours)
    • Vaya ability to implement hard limit data barring when you reach your data limits (just in case) for the month
    • Vaya overspend on the Vaya to Vaya calls comes out of the other CAP inclusion for the month. (This is awesome. Live connected doesn’t do this and charges you on top of the monthly fee.)
    • Cheaper International Call Rates

    • Vaya active Rep on Whirlpool (That receives a +++ :) )

    ===============================================================

    • LC free voicemail deposit
    • LC cheaper MMS (50c vs 55c)
    • Better website with more information about plans and rates
    • More apps that support them for usage on your phone (for the moment until these App programmers like myusage etc add Vaya)
    • Excellent post

I know it's an old thread but 4G plans? Can anyone confirm this? I can't seem to find anything on their website that would suggest that they are using the 4G network.

Neither Vaya or live connected are "prepaid"

  • LC is offering their starter kit for free (usually $20). Vaya's starter is $20.

So LC is cheaper essentially until the 20th month. With all the prepaid deals going around, not sure if it's likely to stay with them for 20 months. So it seems LC is better in value for the $11.99 vs. $11 plan.

    • Vaya waives it if you get a 24 month plan.

  • Moved to Vaya from LC. Never needed the phone support before but so handy to had someone in au or anywhere that matter as cant substitute direct 1:1 voice communication.

  • Thanks guys, seems like vaya sounds better for me than.

Vaya's Included Value does not include international calling.

  • Sorry, can't find any ~$11 plan on LC website, could someone point me to it.

They just changed their plans. Not good value at all. Well, that makes it easy, Vaya wins. Let's hope they don't raise the prices to match.

      • Explains why they dropped the $16 plan change fee. Ouch!

Wow… This is terrible. LC promoted so hard on OzBargain to gain a loyal customer base and reward us with this? Plans that cost twice as much and offer half as much?

Vaya here my entire family comes!

    • Yeah, vaya.net.au

  • Liveconnected will not survive. Vaya is superior in every way now.

There should be an area for anti-bargains. I just recommended Liveconnected 2 days ago and now I'll look like a fool :)

Do you think Vaya will also turn to the darkside?

    • +1

I was thinking exactly the same thing. Vaya will have massive volume increases as a consequence of Liveconnected's actions and will learn that the customer base can dramatically shrink overnight with the wrong pricing strategy.

      LC, and absolute ANTI-BARGAIN

  • Vaya hands down when you now consider LC increased with their just released plans http://www.liveconnected.com.au/mobile-plans

  • Just get an Optus woolworths 'charge comes loaded w/ $500CR there you go problem solved.

Currently @ 12,60 after each fuel discount so locking my values in for another year. Neat.

    • Woolworths mobile isn't currently $12.60, Is it?

  • Just looked at the Vaya hidden charges page, and it says there is a $1 charge for using bpay. Is there any free method to pay, and is charging for Bpay even legal?

    • Direct Debit from you bank account is free apparently. BTW my ISP does this so it's not unusual if Vaya does it.

    • Optus charges us $2 as a non direct debit fee. Pirates.

  • I'd avoid LC on the basis that the usage meter only updates every 48 hours.

I had a $900 excess data charge because of a malfunctioning app. Worth paying the extra $20 and going to Vaya to have a excess usage meter which works, or just go Woolworths mobile and avoid any risk of running over.

  • Just saw that Starthere is offering $13.75-$18.75 cashback. That almost covers the cost of the starter pack.

  • Can I still keep the same number with Vaya?

    • You can keep the same number with all mobile phone services. It asks you on the signup form if you are taking over an existing phone number.

With that said, does anyone know how long it takes to port? Do I have to call and request the port to be activated. I want to order a starter pack but I don't want the port to happen until my credit with Woolworths Mobile has expired.

  • i just signed up to vaya on the $11 flexi plan, how can I check my usage?
