What's on your OzBargain bucket list?

Today I bought Lego for my son from Amazon.DE and it's got me excited as I have read about many other Amazon.DE deals on ozbargain and now I am "in da club". This has got me thinking about what other boxes I want to tick on my ozbargain bucket list.

My list;

  1. Post a deal that makes 100 positives
  2. Make a witty comment that gets 10 positives
  3. Participate in a controversial COTD deal
  4. Get cut down by jv

I'll keep thinking.

What's on your ozbargain bucket list?

Cheers, cheap steve

I must be lame -my OzB bucket list is really about wanting something and then waiting for it to come up on OzB. Like microSDHC cards, a good phone, a big-ass TV, a great HN/JB price beat at OW! My bucket fillith over with OzBargains, for I have acquired all these good things at excellent prices.

That's the opposite of me, I actually secretly hope that none of those things appear on Ozbargain because it makes me feel like spending and secondly seeing the new phones, TV's etc. makes me feel that the gadgets that I already own are getting outdated and needs "upgrading".

      • So scrimshaw, how many phones have you had since you got your Asus-Garmin A50?

Mine is just about ready to become the dedicated car GPS unit. I think I have done well to last 2 years without giving in to all the good phone deals that have come along in the meanwhile.

          ASUS -> Huawei Sonic -> Acer Liquid MT-> SGS2

This was in the space of around 2 years. I'm already seriously contemplating on getting a Nexus phone, just because of how cheap it is for the spec!

        • LOL on the Nexus….I have to admit I have been thinking about the Nexus too, but I have the free use of a Sony Xperia P to stop me. The pricing on the Nexus, really makes YumCha phones a poor value proposition.

I would have gone the Acer Liquid MT too if it was in stock when I tried to raid all the JBs in SA. I was thinking about the SGS2 because of the smaller screen compared to the current crop of beasties.

I got the Sonic for the Mother in Law, who is still very happy with it.

I am sure I've done the first three. Not so sure about jv cutting me down. I guess it would depend on what you consider "cut down" and perhaps whether you deserve it.

I'd like to post a deal that would have been hard for others to find where they can get something completely free without facebook involvement. Maybe by redemption. Something similar to the logictech refunds perhaps.

I'd like to post a deal that gets over 100 votes! I've got 40 positives on a comment before and 30 another time so that has been ticked off :P

Participating in the $9 Dell printer was the best though. So glad I bought one!

Maybe we need to add "get cut down by jv" as one of the badge…

      • I think jv has more badges than anyone.

Or "manage to shut jv up"…

      • Once I got an upvote from jv on a dumb comment I made. I wasn't sure whether it really counted or not.

  • Isn't this backwards? You come to ozbargain with an empty bucket, and you leave with a lot of cheap loot that you don't necessarily need. (Sometimes you don't even know what it is :) )

Lists get in the way. Ozbargain happens :)

You should add "jv being positive about my post"

    • Yes.This.

      • Do a search for jv, you'll see you get this error - "You must include at least one positive keyword…" :P

  • My motto is "If it has not been on OzBargain, it is not a real special".

I aim to make all my gadget purchases via OzB deals.

It didn't happen if it was not on OzBargain!

    • At least one exception, if you are out shopping and come upon a real bargain on clearance and you back the truck up and buy all of the stock. Not on OzB, but it still did "happen"

Yes…That is true (but very rare) enjoyment. But I have to say crowd-sourced bargains have a vastly better hit rate over my random trawling of shops or online.

    I've got 2 + 4.
hell, most people have 4 ticked off.

    Maybe-
not buy something I don't need just because it is cheap for a month.

  • Have i missed something?

What controversial COTD deals has there been?

    • +2

Pretty much any one off sale where they advertise stuff specifically below RRP. AKA when they sell a PS3 or Wii for $100. Literally tens of thousands of people try and buy it at once, and with only a handfull of products. Everyone is pissed off when they miss out
