scuse my noobness in advance..
so I jumped on the bandwagon, and bought the N40L, i think it is the version which doesn't come with the 250GB hd
anyway i picked up a 2 x 8gb non ecc ram
an ASUS graphics card with HDMI
and 2 x 2TB WD Red hard drives
don't have much knowledge of building PCs, but I figure it can't be too hard, just plug things in and press the on button…
so i've created a bootable disk with ubuntu on it, but it keeps crashing because I think it can't detect my hard drives to install it on
one of my friends mentioned I have to have to put a little plug on the jumper pins to signify its the master because it will be detected
I've tried putting it on the first two and last two pins, but it doesn't work
pretty stuck, and google seachess tells me nobody else seems to have this problem..
can anyone help?
I don't think you need to make any changes to jumpers. More likely the cable that connects the hard drives is loose. It's the thick one on the left push it down until it clicks
