Another new bundle on Fanatical (though it was a flash deal last October). Pick up S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Complete Bundle with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl for just $10.82

Games rated on Steam from Very Positive to Overwhelming Positive.

The three games are currently selling on Steam for a total of $72.40 Update: Steam has come to the party and dropped their price for the three to total $18.08 (thanks @pepto for alerting me to this) but you are still far better with the Fanatical deal.

As a long time console player who missed these when they came out and didn’t want to spend the money on them on PlayStation now that I have a steam deck I might just have to try these out. Especially as I now have much more time to play with it being so portable and convenient. The last game I played on PS5 was Metro Exodus and I loved it.

Looks to me that all are on sale on steam with a total of about $15 so not that much more, but I’ll take the 4 bucks!

Also saw that the Metro trilogy is on sale on steam for $14 too which seems like a steal. Might get that too.

These (Stalker) have a nice feel to them. Hard to describe exactly. And some of the monsters are pretty scary too. Enjoyed them quite a lot.

Loved this series. Been waiting long time for sequel coming this year.

Bit janky by modern standards but has grest atmosphere.

I just had a look at the pricing of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 and, initially, I thought it was expensive until I used the RBA inflation calculator to show that PC games I bought back in 1985 for $65 each equated to $222.76 when adjusted for inflation. Sheesh, no wonder my wife didn't like me buying them back then.

When it came out, the original STALKER was and remains one of the best games I've ever played. Extremely atmospheric, even scary - the weird janky bugs on release made this even more uncanny valley.

Not sure if the gameplay and graphics will hold up nearly 20 years later but worth a shot at this price if you're curious about the sound of an ominous postapocalyptic SF game set in Chernobyl/Pripyat.

Mods I recommend for a good first playthrough without mucking with the devs' intentions (Weapons Rebalance aside, which you will appreciate the weight of).

    Shadow of Chernobyl:
    Weather https://www.nexusmods.com/stalkershadowofchernobyl/mods/1022
    Ground textures https://www.nexusmods.com/stalkershadowofchernobyl/mods/1035
    Weapon rebalance https://www.nexusmods.com/stalkershadowofchernobyl/mods/1059

    Call Of Pripyat
    Just the Realism mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/stalkercallofpripyat/mods/281

Clear Sky - I didn't play this modded, but people do seem to be pretty pleased with
    Clear Sky Complete - https://www.moddb.com/mods/clear-sky-complete

Modnexus and moddb are good sources of additional mods for these classic, rewarding, hard games.

    • Will these work on the steam deck?

      • I don't have a steam deck, but I imagine they will. The textures included are high res - but that is all relative: these games are really old, so they may not be too big these days. Check the installation instructions on those pages; and I wouldn't be surprised to see people have discussed it on each mod's discussion page.

I don’t pick this up when the bundle was active but it’s back up at $8.54 for the next 34 hours or so or until they sell out (unlikely as it was 79% when I bought it a few hours ago and now it’s down to 72%).

    • Yes, I noticed that when I logged in this morning but I didn't bother posting it again (I've posted it twice in the past nine months… each time it gets cheaper… oh well).
