Plantronics HW251 Monaural Headset Top - $79 Inc GST and Shipping

00

We've got surplus stock of these HW251 Monaural Headsets. I don't know how that happened, somebody from AAA Headsets must have ordered too many - it wasn't me, honest!

In order to reduce our stock levels we're now selling them at the special price of $79 including GST and delivery within Australia. I couldn't find an Australian site selling these headsets cheaper - well actually I could but after adding their shipping it was more expensive.

You will need a compatible bottom cord to connect this headset to your telephone. Call our headset specialists on 1800 060 976 if you need assistance or look at http://www.headsets-australia.com/compatible.html to find out which cable is needed for your telephone model.

  • Are these headsets effected by the product recall?

    • I had a similar headset at work, and mine didn't have a power supply at all.

However, having a headset was quite nice (compared to a big old cisco handset).

Wow, that was a fast reply, nice work!

These Plantronics HW251 headsets are not effected by the product recall. The recall you refer to only relates to the power supplies with some Plantronics wireless headsets. The HW251 is a corded headset that doesn't have a power supply.

  • I've used these before I got my 510SL and they're quite nice though the mic/mouthpiece needs to be replaced every now and then…oh and they get stolen quite regularly for some really strange reasons.

For the OP: do these need special cables to work with Cisco phones? IIRC mine did.

    • Wow, stolen headsets, that's terrible - even worse than somebody stealing your food from the fridge!

Most new Cisco phones require a standard Vista cable - http://www.aaaheadsets.com.au/showProduct/Cisco/Popular+Cisc…

Some earlier model Cisco phones required a special reversed polaris cord. I think this may be what you are referring to.

    • I wrote my name on the inside (under the foam, witha permenant marker) just in case mine ever got taken at the office. It was a major concern. Apparently people in IT (and I guess any job) regard "company property" as something they can just claim for themselves if it isn't being used at that very second.

imo if your spending that much for a headset, get a gaming headset, i think they sound much better

    • AD700 + zalman mic

That's fine if you are using the headset for gaming. This one is a telephone headset that plugs into a telephone. It's really designed for business users who talk on the phone a lot and is monaural so you can also talk to your colleagues without having to remove the headset.

  • Apparently the same here is not on sale at $65.12 + Shipping

    • Sure, add the $15 shipping and it works out slightly more than our deal. Also, I doubt you will find headset specialists working at kickstartcomputers who can help if you have any problems with your headset.

    • Add Office Life's $16.50 shipping and it works out more than the AAA Headsets deal. Will they get it to you next business day like we do?

Why so much, given that it looks like 20c worth of platics and components?

Elkectret mic, basic speaker … But it is the price of a Blu-Ray player nowadays - with full computer, power supply, case, LCD display, motors, lasers, assorted high-spec connectors, software, patent licensing, …

Yes, economies of scale and all, but still … WTF!?

  • Thanks for the input manic. I'm sure your comment makes perfect sense, just not to me!
