Currently LVMH is running a Friends and Family sale for Tag Heuer watches. Sadly they only accept US credit cards which make getting the deals near impossible without a US proxy purchase.

They currently list this watch on sale there for $699USD, off the retail value of $1300-1400USD. Purchasing there + proxy purchase fees + ship to AU with forwarder would cost ~$780USD. Hence the Amazon price is competitive (although not the lowest it has been from camelx3)

Makes a good present for Christmas. Will arrive before then.

Ebate cash-back for 4% extra discount if you can wait @ www.ebates.com (non-referral link)

  • has been much cheaper in the past according to camel

  • Currently LVMH is running a Friends and Family sale for Tag Heuer watches.

    https://www.lvmhpartners.com - access code: 2012holiday

    • Btw was posted as a separate deal a few days back but was removed as the site does not accept non-US cards (they use bill AVS to check), nor do they ship outside US. Confirmed by CS that there is no phone number to call for non-US card orders

    • Hi ,

I tried the code 2012holiday a few days ago but it is no longer valid.
Have you by any chance another code.

      Thanks

  • This model looks more like a Swatch.

  • Looked this up, it's like a phone but only tells the time (!?!?!)

But it's small and fits on your wrist.

I have never made a constructive comment on ozbargain yet. I guess this is another one as well.

  • Cant get excited about Quartz watches, the same movement that is inside a $150 watch dressed up in a case with a logo at 10 times the price (and I know there are plenty of auto brands that do the same with an ETA movement). I would go for the Link Worldtimer or the Calibre 5 Diver watch on the LMVH F&F sale if I could, good prices for both.

    • great suggestion but i can't swim

  • http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Tag-Heuer-Formula-One-Grande-Dateā€¦ - $669 + $115 Shipping = $776 so just a little more, but no need to use freight forwarders etc.

    • Your arithmetic is a little off, $786.

  • I bought a chronograph version similar to this in Vegas from the Tag boutique for about $11xx including tax. These are nice watches, although the clasp on the bracelet feels a quite cheap (stamped steel with no release buttons). The bezel is excellent and very toolish. The dial has wonderful applied indices that catch the light. The Tag branding on the side of the case is a little ostentatious, but lets face it, when you're wearing a TH, modesty is out the window. Are there better watches available for the money or less? Absolutely. If you want a Tag, then rest assured, it is a perfectly adequate watch at a good price (below market, definitely below Australian).

If you go to Vietnam there are a couple of watch stalls that sell "genuine" copies of all the major watches. (I asked if there were any fake copies but only got a blank stare)
