  • Very good price for "FULL HD 1920 x 1080", "LED" And "42"

  • 160 viewing angle doesn't mean it's a TN, does it?

  • no PVR I assume?

  • this is unfortunately the killer: Screen Refresh Rate: 50Hz :(

    • 50Hz aint so bad, could be wrong but were not most LCD's 50/60hz till it became a marketing point?

      • Every time I do some reading on the subject, it seems to be that higher Hz are more or less pointless. I am more than happy to be proved wrong, but I can't seem to find evidence otherwise.

Seems to be the megapixels of TVs almost.

        • there is not much difference

    • I bought a 50Hz set and love it, I do not see what the fuss is about.

My sister bought a 100hz set and complained about the picture, we turned off all the picture enhancements and she was happy.

  • At it's regular price, how is this tv different from the bigger 46" model?

    http://dicksmith.com.au/product/GE6834/dick-smith-46-quot-fu…

Seems to be smaller, but the same specs and price…

    • Judging purely by the picture, it's the same TV in different sizes. 46" is $497 on sale though, normal price $597. The 42" is $496 normal price, will be $396 after the sale.

  • Yes, but after the sale it will be the same price for TVs with a 4" size difference? Bit odd. No sign that the 46" sale is ending, whereas the 42" sale ends after an hour.
