NiteCore TM11 2000 Lumen Flashlight US$159.83 Delivered

daily1

I found this deal a little late… it ends after Cyber Monday in the US, so be quick!

This is a deal for flashaholics or anyone who wants a really bright light. It uses three Cree XM-L LEDs and 4 18650 batteries. It's more flood than throw, and is about the size of a Coke can. I was tempted to get it a few months ago, but it was a bit too pricey. This price cut was enough to make me jump!

The torch is $141.95, first class mail is $17.88. Priority Mail is about $36 and Express around $48 if I remember right.

The best local price is $244.95 plus $6.95 shipping from liteshop. Best price on ebay is US$169.99. Admittedly the price difference isn't that large compared to ebay, but you're more likely to get better after-sales service from goinggear.com than a HK ebay seller.

  • $169.99 delivered…Link

    • Mmm, $158 is less than $170.

      • Best price on ebay is about $180.

        $169.99 is less than $180.

        • Oh you were referring to the ebay price. You're right, for some reason your ebay link doesn't appear on ebay.com.au when searching for nitecore tm11, sorted by price.

        • here you go… Link

Not saying this is bad deal, just that the price is not that big of difference…

        • I was referring to doing a search, e.g.:
          http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_from=R40&_nkw=ni…

        • Thanks, forgot the conversion rate, it becomes AUD $162.78…

Here you go enabled "worldwide": Link

        • If I use 'ideal' conversion rates like you have, this deal becomes $153. $158 is what paypal charged me.

That said, $10 isn't that big a difference I suppose. It's still the cheapest around though.

        • If I use 'ideal' conversion rates like you have

I didn't, just what eBay shows me, not my own conversion, the price you pay on eBay…

I'm more curious about the coupon code, what else can you use it for ?, nvm found it…Link

        • Oh I never trust those eBay price conversions. You will pay more when you check out via paypal. The AUD price is only correct if the seller actually lists in AUD.

  • I bought a 220 lumen one just then…

    I wonder how bright 2000 lumen is….

    • I have a 220 lm and a 1000 lm, believe me its bright !

      • wait… mine was only 115 lm… LOL
it's bright enough for me and it uses AAA batteries.

  • Meh I used to be a big fan of Nitecore, especially the SmartPD series.

From their CPF participation I was also under the impression that they had good warranty service. Then I sent back a light under warranty and it came back 'repaired' but not. All subsequent emails were ignored.

Goinggear is a good store though, have bought from them many times.

    • They do seem to have a good rep and have posted lots of reviews on youtube, so I figured supporting them would be a good idea.

      Now, to get some batteries!

  • Does this comes with batteries?

  • My iphone is 2200lm!! LOL
and it comes free with the phone i found!!!

  • Good lord what a weapon.

  • +1

Consider getting the Skyray King instead. It's a knockoff, but a good knockoff, and sub $50.

    Review here: http://budgetlightforum.com/node/8435

Same LED's and same real 2000+ Lumens output

    Main Differences:
Skyray only has 3 modes - High, Low and Strobe.
Skyray may not be able to run on 1 x 18650 in emergencies (will test mine tonight)
No light ring around the switch
Not sure about waterproof level of Skyray
The colour may appear slightly different under certain light :-)

I will admit I like the extra features of the Nitecore (e.g. the power switch light flickers once every 3 seconds when the light is off - great for finding it in the dark), but for one-third of the price I can live without the wank factor.

    • Looks good. But seeing that Nitecore had 3 revisions in a year before they got it right (mainly heat and regulation), I'd be a bit concerned about long-term reliability of a clone.

That said, they could have just copied the final corrected design and benefited from Nitecore's mistakes. :)

I've kinda gotten over the super-cheap $10-30 lights myself. I haven't bought that many, but of the ones I've bought, you really do get better build quality and design with higher-priced lights, to a certain extent.

      • I own both the Nitecore and the Sky Ray. As much as I hate to say it, the Sky Ray I bought (unbranded from CNQualitygoods) in neutral white tint is the brighter and in my opinion better torch. Absolutely no quality issues, and definitely not a 'supercheap $10-$30' light like the dozens of others I own. Mine is bright gold, which is not everyone's cup of tea, but I see that CNQualitygoods stocks a black one now too (but with branding), with the newer U2 bin of emitter if you go for the cool white: http://www.cnqualitygoods.com/goods.php?id=1708. It would be better if it had a ~600 lumen medium mode though.

In short, I wish I hadnt bought the Nitecore and had bought an extra Sky Ray. For reference, the Sky Ray can run on 1 x 18650, but I wouldnt do this for a long period of time. I haven't tested its waterproofing, but it looks pretty solid to me.

        • That sounds like a good alternative. Is it just as floody as the TM11? Is runtime the same? Does the SkyRay ramp down on high if you leave it on? Does it shut down when the batteries are low, or does it rely on cell protection?

Other differences in case anyone else is wondering is the IPX rating (TM11 is 8, SkyRay is 7), no mode memory, 2-stage switch, no volt meter, and PWM flicker on low. Not everyone cares about all that though, so the Skyray is definitely a contender.

        • Just bought this:
          http://www.cnqualitygoods.com/goods.php?id=1708

It's 2500 lumen and a retardedly bright flooder.

Hi, my name is Ben and I'm a flashaholic.

        • Ahaha, it can be a pretty expensive addiction. Now I'm second-guessing my purchase - I could get both a cool and neutral tint for less money. Sigh!

Branko, could you comment on the runtime and the other bits above?

        • I read that review, but it's not very detailed. The reviewer guessed the runtime at max to be 1.5 hours and low around 15 hours, but doesn't mention anything about thermal cycling or active cooling. The TM11 review on CPF measured the runtime on max at 2.5 hours, and low at 17 hours.

The white wall shot doesn't have a comparison either, so it's hard to tell if it's as floody as the tm11.

Without more details it's hard to tell how similar the two are. I'm surprised there isn't a detailed review out there directly comparing the both, seeing as they're so similar.
