  • Note the write speed is about 12 MB/sec which is pretty slow for what is meant to be an Ultra card. Basically the speed is about the same as a generic Dick Smith 4GB Class 6 card that I just benched today.

The $40 64GB Master SDXC does at least 16 MB/sec, probably a lot more when my USB 3.0 reader arrives.

    • Thrawn, thnx for the heads up. Where is best to get Master 64GB Master SDXC?

They're on eBay. $42 now… Was $40 list a few days ago. I got a small discount for buying a few items off him.

    • How come 12Mb/sec where as the card says 30Mb/sec? Are you talking about the same card? Can you elaborate or point to reports on the discrepancy

      • I haven't looked into the card, but there are typically a few different speeds associated with any computer storage. The Read speed can be very different to the write speed, so the card may be able to get data off the card substantially quicker than it can write it to it.

Whether that applies or not here, I'm not sure, but it is how they could get their 30MB/s figure.

edit: Being a class 10 card, the device should have both read and write exceeding 10MB/s (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital#Speed_Class_Ratiā€¦)

  • From the Amazon Link, here is one users speed test results.

    13.8Mb/s Write
    34.1Mb/s Read

  • HOw do you get it $39 shipped, mine is about $45

    • Looks like it's gone up in price. It was $32.99 + $6.11 shipping.

      Now it's $38.99 + $6.11 shipping.

      • ah ok thanks
