[resolved] Medibank Club Lifestyle - trouble with vouchers?

Original problem described below


Medibank Club Lifestyle is a shopping group attached to Medibank Private health insurance.

Is anyone else a member with them?

Have you bought and/or received Wish gift cards or Coles gift cards, since August 2012?

I've got an order pending since early August and it's now end of November :S (I've rung many times and they keep insisting the cards are on the way)


Background

Among the things they sell, are Coles and Wish gift cards.

I've successfully bought from them before, when the discount was 7% on these gift cards(+$2 for registered postage).

However, I placed an order in early August and since then have had a lot of trouble getting my order (it's now end of November).


In early August I placed an order for more gift cards at 7% discount. (The discount is now only 5%, last time I checked). Wait time was stated to be 5 weeks.

Mid September, 6 weeks on, I contacted them. I was advised by email that there was a problem with data so my order hadn't been processed properly. I could ring for a refund or they'd send me the cards in the next batch. The discount had dropped to 5% on the gift cards, so I decided I'd wait.

Late September I ring up and am told my cards will be sent priority in the next batch that should arrive soon.

Come October, I ring up and ask why my order status hasn't changed and where are the gift cards. I'm advised that gift cards came in, but, they had too many cards on order ahead of my priority listing. My cards will definitely be out in the next batch in the next few weeks.

November, I ring up and ask what happened. They say the gift cards haven't arrived but will be here in the next 2 weeks.

Mid November, I ring up and am told, the cards have not arrived but will definitely be here in the next 4-5 business days.

Same thing the next week. :S One difference is, I can no longer log into Medibank Club Lifestyle :S I've even tried resetting the password and it claims

I asked about that and why my cards weren't here. I was told the cards will be in on Monday and they'll make sure to send out my gift cards.

Monday came, I rang them. No the gift cards aren't here, they'll be sent tomorrow. No update on why I'm not allowed to log in either :S I also asked them for a refund of the Coles cards I ordered (I still want the Wish gift cards)

So it's Tuesday. I've been busy and unable to ring today. No email confirmation that anything was posted. Still cannot log in. :S

Also, every time I ring it's always the same person answering the phone. Is there only one person working on the phones and problem resolution, there? :S

  • I had mine orders ($1500 gift cards) in August and after 3 or 4 times calls and promises from the lady on the other side I requested a refund early September to my account. Lesson learned, now I don't deal with them at all.

    I got a call from the CEO for Club Lifestyles during the week. This is roughly as I remember it.

    He said he was ringing around to apologise to members. Club Lifestyle was buying their gift cards direct, originally. Then a third party came along and it looked like it would be better to deal with them. In the end, that didn't work and left them unable to supply all the gift cards everyone ordered.

    Club Lifestyle will now be buying the cards direct again and I was assured there will be no problem ordering in future.

    I was assured my card was on the way and that I was going to be partially refunded! :)


    So today I can confirm that my credit card statement shows that:
    - my first card was refunded on my credit card
    - the gift card arrived and has the full value
    - the good will refund is now on my credit card too

    :)

    So it ended up being a nice Christmas present (that refund) after all.

    Club Lifestyle, however, are not renewing Medibank Private memberships and so I won't be able to see that their gift card ordering works, in future.

    But all said and done, I thank the CEO for the good will and wish him well in the future :)
