Ratio from Clicks to Likes

I always find it interesting the clicks to "Like" ratio. Personally if I click and buy something, I like the post for good manners. But maybe others are different. What are other people's thoughts? For example my last post 3,500 clicks, but only 70 likes.

Same, I only positive deals if I proceed with it. šŸ˜† by clicking at the voted page, I can easily track deals.

The annoying part on ozbargain is clicking through the link takes you away from the page, a new window would be nice.

Although in the case of your post I remember clicking it and it's because I had NFI what Chocomel milk was.

Change your ozbargain settings to open links in as new window.

    • Fair point

    • You can also just middle click or control or some-other-modifier-key click.

Thats actually a really solid result as far as marketing and ratios go.

Most social media (ozbargain sort of is in that category) advertising would be content with a 2% click to like ratio.

Anything above 1-3% is a good click to like ratio to be getting (For social media anyway).

Then whether or not people even purchase is another ball game altogether.

Because clicks are not likes, the two are mutually exclusive events… I might click on the link because it’s possibly interesting or I am curious, not because I ā€œlikeā€ the deal.

On the flip side, I have liked deals without ever going anywhere near the link because I know it’s a good deal from past experience.

Also, from what I have heard either Scotty or Neil say once was that the clicks could be from users who are not logged in or don’t have an OzBargain account and therefore cannot vote.

  • Some people click on deals just to read comments… or to post new.

Clicks in this case refers to the number of people clicking the link to the external website.

      • Well, you know OzB first rule: buy now, think later.
        Same for likes :)

  • Manage a lot of Facebook ads and posts and the number of people who view a video or click a link is always like 100x the number of people who comment, probably a lot more. You get target content to people who usually comment and react to anything, for $$$ of course. Maybe one day OZB will get popular and replace Facebook and people will pay to have jv post a comment on their deals…

    • and people will pay to have jv post a comment on their deals…

And then immediately have that comment removed for sockpuppeting.

  • if i buy it i like it, if it's geronimo jerky i dislike it
