  • so are u gauranteed the tie or are the 1300 people gauranteed the chance at a gift? pretty confusing t&cs

    • Well going by the happenings in the Mystery Flight promotion http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/85335 , which only gained popularity in the final week and a half of the promotion, I'd be 100% confident that when I purchase my bottle of Chivas Regal today, I'll receive my tie via reedemption. I'm sure hardly anyone knows about this promotion.

    • Simple - ask if the store has 1 of the 1300 code cards before you buy.

      • How do you know there are only 1300 cards? There could be heaps and only the first 1300 get the tie…

        • Redeemed previous Chivas promos - limited number of vouchers/claims issued. Those who got voucher got freebie. Lots of vouchers left over in luggage promo & got voucher when bought a different whiskey.

The tie might be valued at $69.95, but its probably not worth $69.95.

Also the most expensive tie at TM Lewin is AU$65 - http://www.tmlewin.com.au/Ties/Mens-Ties,en_AU,sc.html?srule…

who would downvote this comment? it's true. bear in mind, it's still alright if you were already going to buy a bottle.

The tie might be valued at $69.95, but its probably not worth $69.95.

Why does this post have a neg attached?
The neg says nothing about the deal nor the retailer, just what one person believes about the value of a tie (which is an irrelavence, as the deal is for a free tie).

In essence the negative vote is a warning. A warning about being a scam, spam, defective product or a better deal exists already.

neg votes are there to enable the community to remove bad deals…. There is no evidence this is a bad deal

        This is an invalid neg

I think you are being a bit picky. They may have overstated the value of the tie, but most ties are in the range of $55-$65. Maybe they should have said valued upto $69.95, maybe the $69.95 includes the cost of postage (postage on website says $10).

There will be people out there that will be buying this, regardless of the promotion, to give as a present or to serve at a party, and if they are able to score a good quality tie, valued between $55-$65, then that's a bonus, and it effectively negates the price of the Chivas Regal.

Stop the presses! Over inflated price listed in promotion
      That's never happened before!!!
Sorry Matt, first time I remember disagreeing with you - no need for a neg.

      You can't be serious, matt_will_fix_it.

Good post OP. Bought two bottles for a claim at my address and one at my fathers for him for an additional xmas present.

      Cheers.

Got bonus carry on luggage with a previous Chivas promo. And I bought a different whiskey, but the bottle shop had left over vouchers & gave me one!
If you were going to buy a bottle anyway, you get an extra pressie. I will gift the tie & drink the Chivas. I never wear ties.

  • Reedemed, very simple process, received the confirmation email immediately. The guy at Knox Cellabrations said only 1 or 2 people have asked about this offer.

By the way they have 6 labels left for the mystery flight promotion

    • These are happy days for drinkers!

I'm surprised this hasn't attracted more votes and comments. I thought it was a great deal imo.

Very strange actually, considering I was looking at TM Lewin shirts and ties a few days ago.

    • That's good. Allows us to go back for seconds and thirds. I always buy alcohol for family members for Christmas. They get a good quality whisky and I get a good quality tie.

      • The only problem is if they're all the same tie lol. x5 of the same tie ftw? Could just give them away :P

        • Choice of colour and/or style of Gift is in the Promoter’s sole discretion and no correspondence will be entered into.

Hopefully there are a few varieties available. If not, they will make a good birthday/father's day present.
