Combined shipping on eBay

There is a seller with two "Buy It Now" items for sale that I'd like to buy. It states within his item descriptions that combined shipping is available.

However when I click on "Buy It Now" it takes me into Paypal immediately to pay for the single item and shipping.

I attempted going in via the US eBay site and adding both to cart, but this time it just added the two shipping costs together.

Is there something else I can do to get eBay to apply combined shipping discounts? I've asked the seller to guide me and he said "you will get combined shipping rates", but that doesn't really help.

    I had this experience. These are the steps that I took:
    1. Contact the seller. On my purchase the seller said that I need to commit to buy but not pay for the item.
    2. After committed the transaction, contact the seller back to calculate the new shipping cost and generate new invoice.
    3. After a few days, there is a notification email on my ebay account that the combined shipping is calculated.
    4. Pay for the item.

      That is what I'm attempting to do, but I can't commit to buy. When I click on "Buy It Now", it takes me to a Review Your Purchase screen and the only option is to Continue to Paypal.

    I had this issue also,
    I found if I used there ""VISIT STORE"" option in ebay I was able to buy more than 1 item and the shipping calculted it correctley..

    Managed to get it through - worked in the cart via the US site after the seller updated the listing. Thanks for the suggestions all!

    Sometimes sellers opt to have a buy it now but you must pay for it straight away

    So if you click BIN you get a message "seller required immediate payment" or something along those lines
