  Not saying this is not a good deal.

  I bought one one year and half ago for $400 with 2 years extended warranty from Harvey Norman. You get better chance to check that out during Christmas shopping period.

  The 500 series is old. For $5 more, you can buy a 600 series from amazon including shipping.

      The Robomaid RM-770 IS NOT a Roomba. It's an alternate brand. It's relatively crappy at mapping a room and picks up less detritus.

      try amazon UK, or other european amazons. they use a compatible voltage, then all you need is a cheap plug adapter instead of an expensive voltage transformer.

  Harvey Norman had these out on clearance for about the same price when I wandered through the store two weeks ago. I'm more interested in the scooba as that mops floors, but my wife cannot see the benefit.

  I asked at HN on the weekend, my local has no more stock of the 500 series. They were selling the 630 for $599, and said no discount was possible.

  The 530 is definitely an old model, but I'm buying it as a present for my mother in law, and I think it will suit her. For her, I'd also prefer a local warranty.

  I note that HN has dropped their price on the 530 (online) to match.
