People are buying the 16 Pro Max, but the 16 and 16 Plus are not selling well.
60Hz refresh rate on a flagship phone in 2024 is not acceptable. If it was 120Hz I would have gotten it.
It is acceptable. It's cheaper and a tier below the than the Pro / Pro Max for a reason. If refresh rate is important to you and 16 Pro / Pro Max isn't affordable to you and you chose to buy a 16 / Plus instead of a 15 / 14 / 13 / 12 / 11 Pro / Pro Max, that's on you.
I do however support a price decrease of the base models to make clear the performance gap between these phones.
Lower model iPhones never sell well. The top models overwhelming outsell everything. It's one of the reason why the minis and SE models take so long to refresh.
