Grabbed some today, they're actually little figurines and decent quality too.
The memory itself is made by Verbatim.

Will these fit USB ports with tight spacing between them? I have way too many promo USB sticks that look cool, but are too wide to plug in.

      • +8

i think they will all just about fit because the connector is the "foot"

        anyway I mean shit

$5 each is cheap and i could literally use a few installer usbs

here's a sad fact… my kids used to play minecraft on xbox ps3 etc.

if i gave them this they would think i'm a dero kent

        because they're now in unversity

        • +2

i bought a few for my 19yo son for his birthday last month… he absolutely loved them and bought the other designs recently, now he has the complete set… he thought they were great… and didn't think of me as a dero kent fwiw…

      • The Creeper one is probably the only one that will. The rest, their arms will most likely interfere.
With all of them, it's the heads that are the end cap.

It’s usb 2. Not worth it even if it was $1

    • +10

normally i would agree as it would take forever to fill the drive but… in reality its on 32gb

these are only useful as iso installers

      • +4

Or good as collectibles for kids.

    • +1

Too slow to play minecraft, prone to fail.

Usb sticks fail without use seen it happened for cheap quality ones. Verbatim (had usb 2 worked for few years then fail) and Samsung (including the freebie years ago also usb 2 from Samsung experience stores)

    Thanks OP.

    Got a couple.

Don't need them, but will make for good Xmas gifts along with discounted Lego sets (for primary aged kids).

Takes like 35-53 minutes to transfer 32GB over a USB 2.0 flash drive.

These are to be used for storing small important files/photo's documents.. if you want a fast USB.. I'm guessing this is not the one to get.

      • +3

I don't think I'm entrusting my important files to the Minecraft Steve USB. Only just noticed his shirt's untucked, which doesn't inspire confidence

  • Feel bad. Bought several when it was 12 :(

    • Sympathise mate. Makes one feel dirty. No amount of scrubbing removes that feeling, only the happy thought of a refund can cure that.

  • +2

Thanks OP, grabbed one of each as an Xmas gift..

Minecraft USB - Enderman - SOLD OUT :( .. others still in stock

    • Enderman back in stock.

    It's USB2..
Should be cheaper to clear tbh

  • I hope i have to decapitate them with every use

  • usb 2.0 really?

    • +1

I find it funny how people don't understand why having a thumb drive at usb 2 speeds is bad.

      • +2

Cause they forget it can go down from 10MB per second to 1MB per second or less, only realize after pasting a 8GB 4K av file there…

      • I guess it depends on what you want to use it for.
Just moving some small files around is fine, but anything bigger than a couple hundred megs and you're having a bad(slow) time.

You really get what you pay for though. I forked out for a very fast 64gb USB 3 drive 6+ years ago, and that thing still moves files faster than most 3.0 drives today.
It's an awkward size though tbf.

  • +1

Would it have killed them to make these at least USB 3.0 speeds? Bizarre

    • Why waste money on good guts when the selling point is the casing?
They know the main people buying these aren't going to know that USB 2 is garbage compared to 3.

Granted, there's a reason they are on clearance…

      • Lower cost to make. You bet lots of cheap USB 2.0 memory modules around they just need to wrap it with nice case.

        Trick the kids into buying.

Its ripping people off with a package

        Shall we call this exploit!?

        • It didn't work, they are on clearance.
Next time use USB3 and get that money fam.

  • +1

Any risk of these blowing up?

    (can't believe noone's said it yet :P )

    • +6

Avoid the creeper one. The others don’t blow up

    • -1

These are not batteries lol these are nand flash… i've never seen any usb nand flash drive or DDR Ram explode ( They are non moving parts ) they can get hot and fail.. thats about it

      • +1

@vid_ghost Ah yes It seems you completely missed the joke here.
        Woosh

        • +1

          Probably a roblox player.
