Telstra Customer - Smart Phone - Nokia Lumia 610 or Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus - $199 each

I recently bought the Motorola Defy+ for $99 and found it to be the worst phone I've ever owned in 20 years. The thing continually froze and restarted itself - you could not even make a phone call with it.

So I've decided I have to double the spend in search of a better handset.

The people at my Telstra Shop (Hornsby NSW) are pushing me towards the Samsung but the standby time of the Nokia attracts me.

Any thoughts or experience with either??

I voted Lumia. I have a Defy+ and it doesn't freeze and restart - you almost certainly got a dud.

  • Telstra tells me the warranty on the Samsung is 2 years and the warranty on the Nokia is only 1 year. They also tell me the Samsung outsells the Nokia 10-1, at least in their store…

  • Oh if you wanna vote another smartphone, can you tell me which one so I can look it up?

  • That's a pretty bad price for the 610. I bought a 710 from mobileciti for 168 recently.

Would you consider parting with your defy cheaply? I bought one as well and I love it to pieces. Thinking of getting one for my mum.

The ace is getting on in years. There really are plenty of better phones.

  • BTW, based on current form, I think the cheapie phone of choice here on Ozbargain would be the Xperia U, Xperia Sola, Huawei Honor, or Nokia 710 as far as sub-$200.00 phones go, now that the $99 Defy+ deal is no more.
