Which tablet to get? HELP!

Hey Guys,

Buying a tablet but don't know which one to get. I have read all the reviews and am still unsure. What is your opinion guys?

I am mainly going to be using it to surf the net and do some research for uni with it…

Also, watching some movies and listening to songs from spotify…

Thanks

  • How about telling us what you want to do with it and what you expect out of it. Otherwise this is a popularity contest.

    Also i dont see Surface or Playbook?

    • Just fixed it up, Thanks…

  • All things considered, I think the nexus 7 has the best bang for buck. Personally I'd shell out the little bit extra and order a 3G one from overseas (B&H photo were selling them).

  • the S-pen feature of the Galaxy Note 10.1 is really good and useful for your uni work !!

    Including a budget might be beneficial, OP, and you should also mention if 3G is a requirement. In any case, I voted for the Transformer; it sounds like you're aiming for both consumption and productivity, which the 7" tablets are inadequate for.

    IMO the Transformer is better for getting work done than the Note, because a keyboard is a lot more practical for Uni work than a stylus. The Transformer's dock, which has a battery, should ensure long life, and it should be sufficient for trips to Uni and watching movies. The Infinity, with the Full HD screen, is better than the TF300, so I'd recommend that, if your wallet can cope with the expense (you might have to shop overseas (B&H) because pricing is obscene over here).

    The only thing to be concerned about with the Transformer is that it's older than all the other tablets you've listed, so the specs aren't as good for the money.

    If a FHD+ screen matters to you, then you could get an iPad, Nexus 10, or possibly wait for a new Transformer. You could also look into x86 Windows tablets, since they probably trump iOS and Android in the productivity department (though not in the resolution department).

  • Your basic requirements will be satisfied by any of the listed tabs;
    but from my experience if you are doing a lot of reading especially from pdfs;
    iPad (with retina) will be the best; simple because of the best best responsiveness,
    smoothness and highest resolution leading to crispy text; images.
    Please note that I have not tried Nexus 10; so can't comment regarding that one.

  • Nexus 10 should be on your list too… amazing device - screen is mindblowing
