Car rental options (cheap) for 3 adults 2 child @ Gold Coast

Going to visit gold coast with the family this week, with 3 adults and 2 children. I am looking for car rental options or specials.

Any suggestions, recommendations or tips?

    I visit Gold Coast about twice a year (parents live there). Sometimes I drove but mostly just took the cheap airfare from Jetstar/Tiger :) I've rented cars from

    • East Coast Car Rentals — picked up from Surfers Paradise. Service is not bad, although not the cheapest.
    • Cut Price Car Rentals — quite cheap. Rented a small KIA for ~$30/day for 6 days in July, and will get a mid-2000 Tarago for ~$45/day for 7 days in January (including GST & admin fee). However you get pretty no fills service. Their "office" is very much the back of a Tarago in the airport car park, and now they've moved to a different location so it's a bit of walk from the terminal.

    thanks, scotty. Will have a look, hoping not having to go too far to get the car. looked at budget rentals and a camery had a base rate of ~ $33/day but that basically doubled when I added the other charges, including 2 booster seats :(

      Can also recommend them. We rented a 2007 Getz for a few days in September, booster included free.
