Cheapest Mobile Plans

Sorry if this has been asked and sorry for the rookie question but my contract has now expired with Optus and now it's reverted to the $62 200gb per month plan previously was 80gb. I don't need a new phone, was able to get a google pixel 8a down to $150 after the ozbargain promoted discounts at JB but I now definitely want to consider a new plan

Upon checking my data history, I only tend to use around 28-35gb per month but I require mobile data for hotspot purposes for my day job if I get caught out working remotely on occasion but I also worry that I may require 200gb in the future if technology changes happen rapidly and using only 30gb a month becomes unfeasible.

So wondering where to go now? I haven't been prepaid since the teenage years and was always getting caught our having to recharge weekly. But there's probably a much better plan out there at hopefully only around $20 a month that gives me the 50gb usage I would need?

Belong Mobile is on the telstra network & you can change plans once per month depending on your data needs.

Also data banks (rolls over) every month. Plan info here.

    • how much are you up to? im at 1.3tb

      • 950gb here, and yet I still feel an ever-present anxiety about a lack of data.

    • Full Telstra network?

      • Telstra Wholesale only

      • no idea, dont know what the diff is but is brilliant just like when i used to be with telstra.

    Boost Mobile 265GB Prepaid 365 day SIM $270 + $40 Cashback = $230. Telstra 5G capped at 150mbits
Equiv. to paying $19.166 a month

Optus Mobile Prepaid 365 day SIM 280GB = $220. Equiv to paying $18.33 a month

    Kogan Mobile 500GB 365-day = $219. Voda 4g only. Equiv. paying $18.25 month

Felix Mobile 50GB monthly data, $15.50 /month for 3 months then reverts to $30 monthly. There is a $35 referral benefit for new signups. Voda 5G/4G
If you go over the monthly data cap it slows down to 1.5mbps with no excess charges

  • Belong is the best by far, $40 a month gets you unlimited calls and sms and 40gbs of data, if you dont use it up, it rolls over, like mine, im at 1.3tb of data banked. if you want some, i can gift it to you. and its on the telstra network so good coverage.

ALDI plan $39/month is 65GB data and unlimited banking.

      • my works paying for my belong so ill stick with them for now.

        • Not sure if you're aware you can drop down to the $21 plan if you've got plenty of data. Understand work is paying but depending who you work for they might appreciate it.

I ported out a couple of months ago because of the messages saying my Xiaomi phone won't work once the 3G shutdown happens.
