Been on the lookout for carbon plated shoes for the upcoming Canberra Marathon in 2025.

Generally these supershoes don't go on sale so posting if anyone needs a pair.

I'm obviously going the Solar Red because Red means faster right?

      • I expected better from BF.

  • Nothing in 10.5

    • Pink Spark has tons of sizes.

Own 2 pairs of Adios Pro 3s - absolutely love them for all types of fast running (especially races).

For those unaware, they are the Adidas equivalent to the Vaporfly 3 and Alphafly 3 in terms of high tier marathon racing shoes. From what I've seen they are rated higher than the Vaporfly but maybe not quite at the level of Alphafly - but the Adidas has been out for almost 2.5 yrs so you'd expect this vs Nike's latest and greatest.

As always, running shoes are highly personal - I prefer the firmer bounce of AP3 to the softer Nike ZoomX.

What is fairly objective is the durability; AP3s tend to last the longest out of all brands' supershoes, particularly Nike where the ZoomX degrades massively at 150-200km usage. Many many reports of people using them for racing for 500km, and mixed usage up to 800km and even >1000km, which is almost unheard of for a premier supershoe. So for ~$200 this is great value for money!

    • Mate did you have to size up or down compare to Nike? thanks

Would these be good support shoes for walking?

    • +1

Absolutely not. Your ankles/legs/knees/hips will hate you, unless you already have elite stabiliser muscles.

  • Thanks for the deal and coupon!!!

  • I was going to buy a pair, then just realised I already have a pair in my rotation. Purchased them about 2-3 years ago (I thought it must have been the previous version, but its the current Adios 3). They are super light and quick and I love wearing them for tempo and threshold workouts. Not sure if I would wear them for a long run or raceday marathon though. They don't seem to have as much support as Alphaflys.

  • when was the last adidas amex cashback?

  • -5

Geezus those things are hideous. Wouldn't wear them if you paid me.

  • Pretty good discount with new 4 coming out soon.
Also saw a couple of lucid lemon on sale at DFO homebush at $216 last week

  • Anyone know if they ever release size 14 in men's over here? I have the SL2 in 13's but didn't realise how short they run (only 29.7cm) and can't use them past 10km's.

    • I've been keeping an eye out since the beginning of the year and I haven't seen anything above a mens 13.

Only adidas plated/energy rod shoes I've managed to snag in a size 14 is the Boston 12, and that wasn't available for long

  • These are some big dakkas.

I have an adizero from 3 years ago and it managed to last this long despite its reputation is pretty incredible. Best pair of shoes I've ever bought, most shoes doesn't even last a year.

I'm gonna need a new shoes soon, so I'm hoping this will be around in a few weeks.

  • Can any runners comment on the Topo Phantom 3 Shoes?

I'm looking for a running shoe almost exclusively on the treadmill but I need a big toe box (feet out of shape atm). I think these are more a road shoe? I cant seem to find many light, wide toe box shoes.

Im new to running so keep it simple (ive got the bug for sure).

    • I haven’t tried these specific shoes yet, but I’m a Topo fan and have the cyclone 2 and MTN racer 3. I’ve read a lot about the phantom 3 and would imagine based on the reviews that they’d do pretty well on the treadmill. It’s worth sending through an email to Topo Australia to ask if you’re unsure, I’ve found they’ve been quite helpful before with very specific enquiries.

  • Looks like these are out of stock for now (with these prices).

  • If anyone is still after a pair, Pace Athletic have them on sale for $234 delivered (Shopback also has 3.6% cashback which makes the price similar to this deal).
