    Thank you and ordered.

    • Absolute music to my ears, thank you so much for the terrific vote of confidence and placing another order with us, both are truly appreciated :)

    • You put whisky in your coffee?

      • With these, there is no need

Will you ever offer ground beans in these deals like the good old days, or is it no longer financially viable?

    • +11

Morning @ham0718 I honestly don't know, but there's no plans to bring it back as an option in the near future. We had some issues with our industrial grinder and while that was getting sorted we took some time to look at the pros and cons of offering pre-ground coffee. Right now the cons are winning the debate. Offering pre-ground as an option doesn't scale well and there isn't a great deal of demand of it relatively speaking. Also it causes a number of other issues in practice. It's not 100% a no, but I wouldn't hold my breath. You should be able to snap up a decent burr grinder without breaking the bank, which in turn should improve your coffee experience ten fold :)

      • How long you can store them without affecting the taste.

        • I've successfully stored LB beans in the freezer for over a month. Keep in a sealed airtight container (I left mine in the original airlock packet and put that inside a ziplok bag) and freeze. When you want to use some just decant the amount you need into another airtight container and allow to come slowly to room temperature before using. Return the remainder to the freezer until you need more.

      • I would be interested in a recommendation for a Burr Grinder, that other people use?

        • The Breville Smart Grinder Pro used to be the darling of OzB but I confess I haven't seen a lot of deals for it lately. It's okay as a better quality consumer-grade grinder which doesn't cost a lot.

If you want to stretch your $$ a bit further then stepping up to a prosumer Eureka Mignon will give you much better results, plus you'll have something that can actually be serviced if ever needed. Various models pop up from time-to-time. I personally have the Silenzio which I purchased at a great price as part of a package from Jet Black Espresso when I bought the espresso maker. I highly rate it well above the Breville that I had before.

Mazzer is another popular brand but you're starting to tread into proper professional territory with a price tag to suit. I don't have personal experience with one so for home use I think it's probably overkill, but if you get one you'll likely be able to put it in your will for the next generation.

          • @Chazzozz: Thank you for the recommendations!

I generally make my daily coffees using an aeropress in a mug - Am I right in assuming a lower end grinder like the Breville would be fine for that?

I usually use two level scoops of ground coffee and fill the water in the aeropress to the top… this gives me about 2/3 mug of liquid coffee which I then top with frothed milk.

Do you reckon it's as simple as grinding two scoops worth of the beans whatever that works out to be in grams and making it exactly the same way from there?

I gather there are different settings on a grinder that change how coarse the grind is, so I suppose it'd take a bit of tinkering there to get it right and then I'd be set?

            • +2

@ham0718: For an Aeropress a Breville would likely be fine IMO. I've had a couple of different Breville grinders over the years and I found they didn't quite grind finely enough for my liking, but since a plunger uses much coarser grains that should be less of a problem for you. And, yes, a good grinder has adjustable burrs so you can fine-tune the size of the grind. One great benefit of the Breville Smart Pro is the programmable digital timer so you should be able to get the same amount spot-on every time. But, as has been said before, freshly grinding beans takes your coffee experience to the next level - pretty soon you'll find yourself experimenting with all sorts of grind profiles for different beans!

            • @ham0718: Aeropress is very forgiving so you’ll be fine in dialling in your grinder to your preferred particle size.

        • https://df64coffee.com/en-au/products/df54 is probably the best value roughly budget grinder. It is a single dose grinder though so if youre looking for something with hopper youll have to look elsewhere

      • Appreciate the honesty - thank you! Maybe I can convince the wife to buy me a grinder as my Christmas present!

    • +4

Strongly suggest you account for the fantastic savings you get from Lime Blue coffee deals and use it to buy a grinder - manual or electric. Singles day and Black Friday are coming.

  • Hi Lime Blue, any chance you have a decaf offer come up soon. I'm getting low on my supply.

    • Hey @McGeeski never hurts to check!

We tend to focus on a deal at a time, so I honestly don't know when we'll next feature our Swiss Water Process Decaf in a deal. Perhaps you could get a small bag of the good stuff at normal price to tie you over if you're about to run out :)

  • no click and collect ill stick to my Lazzio Medium Coffee Beans from Aldi.

Would be great for you to offer 250g at cheaper rate to try for a week

    • Appreciate the feedback, all duly noted!

We'll been working on a click and collect system for a little while not, it'll be live in the not too distant future :)

  • Hi Lime Blue, I received my free 500gm coffee today. Thank you so much.

  • No 500g option for this blend like others I have purchased from LBC?

  • What’s the delivery turnaround for an order made from Sydney on 4th Nov morning around 8:30 am? I have received the CouriersPlease tracking # but it hasn’t moved anywhere since. Currently it is still in VIC.

    • Morning @Dr-StrangeLove thank you so much for your order, it really does mean so much!

When did you receive the tracking info email?

      • I have. But it hasn’t moved anywhere since 4th Nov (date I ordered). No details on when I can expect the delivery as well. I wish I had opted express delivery now!

        • We're on the same page that you have received the email :)

To further clarify, my question was "when" did you receive the email with tracking info?

          • @LimeBlueCoffee: Sorry email on 4th Nov. I ordered it on 3rd Nov.

            • +1

@Dr-StrangeLove: Got it, same page now!

Melbourne to Sydney via standard delivery is usually around 48 business hours. A few things to note:
              1) Tracking is point to point, not live, actually shipment progress is always a step ahead of what you can see, as tracking is only updated after an event
              2) Yesterday 5th November was a public holiday in VIC so this may potentially mean delivery takes one day longer

For future reference if you have queries about a delivery the best way for us to look into it for you is by you simply sending a reply email to your tracking info email :)

  • Bought and delivered. What is the recipe for this coffee? Thank you.

    • Fantastic, thank you so much for your order, love to hear about super speedy delivery!!!

I have a hunch your fresh coffee has been delivered, but you haven't unpacked the order yet?

p.s. once you unpack the order you should find our brew guides on the front of each bag :)

      • Ah! I already brewed the coffee but didn't read the label! Seen it now. Thank you.

        • :)

          • @LimeBlueCoffee: Hi @LimeBlueCoffee, there is still no update on my order done on 3rd Nov. shipped on 4th. I’ll D M you with order and tracking details. Can you please check? I’m out out coffee and was hoping this would be delivered in 2 days.

            • @Dr-StrangeLove: Hey @Dr-StrangeLove thank you so much for the order!

I'll be happy to look into this for you as I don't want you put of the good stuff :)

Please send a reply email to your tracking info email with the request, not a DM (not trying to be difficult, there's a specific reason we it done like this). I'm not quite sure where you're located, but Tuesday 5th Nov was a public holiday in VIC and public holidays always seems to throw deliveries out a bit. Also tracking is point to point, not live, so progress always better than it looks :)

  • My beans arrived today. I'm yet to try this blend, but have recently had other LB varieties and I'm a semi-regular buyer. I am wondering if LB offer sales direct from the Moorabbin location - I drive by there often enough and dropping in to pick up a deal seems like a good idea to me.
