Flingshot trustworthy site?

I have never dealt with this site before and I am a potential customer. Just want some feedback and advice on this site. Like are they trustworthy? How are their customer service like? How good and fast in regards to shipping within Australia?

Also this post is not to bash on the site, but purely to gain a sense of trust over this site.
Any feedback will be great.

    That means they've been having pretty good deals :) You should be able to find community opinions in those deal posts.

    Flingshot is pretty reliable and customer services is pretty good. Bought the 1tb 2.5" HGST Touro HDD just last thursday and got it on monday so delivery is decent as well.

    Jumped on the $3 8GB USB deal they did right at the start a couple of months ago.
    Didn't arrive so I contacted them and they sent another out for me.
    Took a little while but did arrive and to my surprise, they sent me a 16GB instead because of the delay and lost post!

    So, +1 for receiving a 16GB USB for $3 incl post!

  • Well, looks like we'll get to have a chance to see what Flingshot RMA service is like… my Crucial M4 carked it just today. :(

    Poor timing, but at least I had a replacement on standby.

    • Welp. As you can see by the date stamps, Flingshot have worked pretty fast to complete the warranty process with me.

      I returned the SSD using a ClickAndSend Satchel, and received an email from them afterwards that if I hadn't sent it yet, to send it by registered post and to keep the receipt as they'd be refunding me the postage cost. Points here!

      After providing them with the tracking number, they informed me that when they received it, it would be tested, if confirmed faulty, they would refund or replace. Extra points for acknowledging the possible options!

      I noted online that the item had been received, they confirmed they'd received it, that it was faulty… and said a replacement would be sent out that very day. (D:) Flingshot asked me to confirm if someone would be present at the address to receive, as the courier TNT Express requires a signature. Well, I guess bonus points for using a proper courier to deliver a replacement, ey?

      In reply, I mentioned I didn't feel comfortable using Crucial again (being an irrational, emotional person :P), that I couldn't guarantee the presence of anyone at home, and that as such I preferred a refund.

      They said sure (!), but did offer one last ditch attempt for a swap for a Samsung 256GB 840.

      Either way, I got a refund, they were polite and timely to deal with the entire time, and I would definitely buy from them again.

    Is this usual for them?

  • I tried to contact them regarding the 8GB Thumb Drive defective, no response at all I called it a loss.

  • TERRIBLE SERVICE. LITTLE TO NO COMMUNICATION. DON'T ANSWER EMAIL. ITEMS OVER 80 DAYS LATE. UNWILLING TO REFUND.

    I ordered three items on October 1st 2013. All three items were due to arrive within 14 working days. After one month and no sign of the items I emailed sales about their location. It took them days to reply, and it turns out they hadn't even sent the items as they didn't have any in stock. They didn't let me know this at any stage. I changed my order and expected the items within two weeks. Absolutely nothing, for another month. I repeatedly sent emails asking for a tracking number, to no avail.

    Eventually a few days ago one seriously beat up parcel arrived, with a grand total of one of the items I ordered. The other two are missing. Sales are pretty insistent that two items have arrived, they will give me no information on the location of the third, regardless of how many times I've asked for a tracking number or location. After almost three months of waiting I am sick of their shit. I have asked for a refund several times, and the have stopped answering my emails.

    I will never use flingshot again, the service is the worst I've ever had. I've ordered over 40 items online this year from other vendors, and every one has arrived without fail, on time and in good condition. At this stage Flingshot have a 0% on time success rate, and a 33% success rate delivering damaged goods two months late.

    I would recommend them if you are a gambling man who likes to lose, or a rich philanthropist that enjoys charity work for the lazy and useless. Otherwise stay far away. I don't ever write bad reviews for companies, but I have had such a bad time with these guys that I went out of my way to register for this forum, just to warn anyone who may be considering using them.

  • Flingshot really f**ked me over. I paid on card. I repeatedly asked for a tracking number, and they avoided the subject every time I did, instead they assured me that my items would arrive within the next week. As the weeks went by it was the same story every time, no tracking number, it's almost there. They offered a refund but never got around to paying it. I realise now that their motivation was to fob me off until I couldn't get a credit card refund after sixty days.

    It's been 120 days now, items not received. I'm off to the bank today to try and get me money back. These guys have already screwed me around and wasted hours of my life, now they're going to waste even more.

    It's a shame to see a once reputable company become an internet scam store.

  • Purchased a DIR-825 from their sale last year and it died in Nov.
    Reported it, they agreed to replace with equivalent unit….. still waiting.

    Excuses, delays and lack of response!

    No response to recent emails. Last email I sent to them was 8 Jan.
