Cheapest courier to ship items I buy and sell from eBay?

Tried doing a search but nothing really came up that was relevant.

We have used E-go previously but just wondering what other courier's OzBargainers have found to be really cheap.

I buy and sell a bit on ebay (just everyday goods) and quite often postage or the fact that the item is located in a different state simply makes the 'cheap' buy price end up being an overall pricey item. So a cheap courier contact would be fabulous!

  • We use Fastway Couriers - they are cheaper than Australia Post by a couple of $$ per 3kg satchel. But they have their limitations - no delivery to PO box addresses, fairly limited delivery areas outside the main cities in the eastern states.

Have you (or anyone else) tried Temando? They are a courier agregator and seem to be popular with QuickSales sellers. Don't hear about them much from the eBay crowd.

  • +1 for Fastway, cheap although service can sometimes be flaky. I used a company called Shipping Easy for a while, but they now only do the US. Australia Post integration on eBay is painful - stay clear!

    • Receiving packages from Fastway has been terrible over the years for me, though it may just be the guy that does my area is the problem. I've had a $600 phone that required a signature just left at the front door, a no attempt at delivery and sent straight back to the seller, a missed delivery which I called up and arranged a re-delivery which was forgotten to be put back into the system and returned to sender among other issues. I am extremely wary of them now and am willing to buy things elsewhere for more money that have better shitting options.

      • So this is like 3 years old or whatever but it just so happens that my Fastway guys is also terrible. I've watched him pull up, walk halfway up the drive then stand in front of the house like he's trying to work something out for 30 seconds.

Then get into his car and drive off without ringing the bell.

So I ring the office and they send him back in 10 minutes and his "reason" is he thought no one was home. Didn't knock, didn't ring the bell, just stood there … listening? Trying to ascertain whether he can just drive off ROFL.

  • Depends on your volume, if your at less then 200 units a month then you may as well stay with Auspost with an account, slight discount but still cheaper then most couriers.

Once your in the 200+ articles a month region then you want to speak to Star Track, TNT, Toll and Fastways.

But things like daily pickups etc will add to your bottom line. You need to figure out your volume per month then go from there.

    • I have lower delivery volume, but I can use Temando to get cheap courier prices without the volume requirements.

  • Yes, I have used Temando and found them excellent.
