Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 16GB 3G

Hello Everyone,

I hope I can get some expert suggestions !!

I am looking to buy a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 16gb 3G and have been looking for the prices for sometime now. I would be travelling overseas in Feb and my 30 days pre departure starts in first week of January 2013. So I would like to take advantage of the TRS scheme !!

Are there any good deals for the Note 10.1 going on ? Below are my observations regarding the prices

Dick Smith are selling it for $694

With 10% Gift card discount and TRS it will cost me approx $562. This would be with Australian Warranty.

Kogan are selling it for $578 including shipping.

But this would be non-Australian warranty. But I have heard Kogan are good at after service.

Any other deals or stores better than above ? Also I have seen couple of stores offering 2 years warranty from Samsung. Is it standard?

Appreciate your help !

  • Kogan will not be eligible for TRS. Unless you specifically want the Note II touch screen capabilities I do not see why you would choose this tablet over others.

    • +1

Thanks. Yes I understand that Kogan will not be eligible for the TRS as their stock is Grey import.

About choosing the tablet..I really like the S-Pen feature of the Tablet. In my day to day work(Engineering) I see this to be very useful for taking notes, flow charts and doing some ridiculous calculations !!

I have looked into the Jelly Bean version of this tablet with the Premium Suite and per my view..its good !!

  • It could be worth asking Dick Smiths to see if they'll pricematch Kogan (that'd be the Kogan price + their shipping rate), then use your giftcards as well as the TRS to drop the price a bit more.

EDIT: I just had a look at other stores and found that Mobicity is selling the 16GB 3G model for $609 for the white, and $599 for the black (plus $10 delivery). I'm not sure whether Mobicity's stock is grey imports or not, so you might need to do a bit of research on that.

    • Thanks for the info !!

I had a look into the Mobicity stock and it is a grey import so I can't take advantage of the TRS. Also with Samsung warranty it says all the international warranty are valid only in the country of purchase.

Note sure if DS will pricematch Kogan !! I will give it a try but have you heard of this happening before?

      • Jb wouldn't price match kogan for me. but then again, the guy just asked me what Harvey Norman were selling for and didn't look it up so i was kicking myself for not saying they were selling it for less!

        • Thanks !!

Any idea/experience if Dick Smith will price match an interstate sore ? ( Price + Shipping)
