Yeah the available credit seems to bounce a bit over the place, but once paying the full balance off reverts to the proper amount (or rather actually goes ABOVE it at times till all pending charges/payments are finalised).

      • Can you just confirm for me how you did it? I am reading the fare rules when checking out on the Amex page and there is no mention of cancelling within the day giving a full refund. Is that just a Qantas specific rule and I just cancel through the Qantas booking reference number after booking?

Edit: It also seems the eligibility on the Qantas website says it needs to be booked through qantas.com to be eligible (see below). So I just want to make sure I understand the process correctly since it worked for you. Also did you book more than 30 days out? Seems to be part of the eligibility requirements from Qantas as well.

To be eligible for fee-free cancellation, you must meet all of the following criteria:

you're a Qantas Frequent Flyer with your Frequent Flyer number added to the booking
you booked directly with us at qantas.com, the Qantas App or through our Contact Centre
you made your booking less than 24 hours ago
the first flight booked departs in 30 days or more
the first flight originates from an Australian city, and
the booking has been paid in full and the ticket has been issued.

You won't be eligible if any of the following apply:

the booking is for an unaccompanied minor
the booking has been previously changed or reissued
you used a Flight Credit or a Buy Now, Pay Later option to pay for the booking, or
one or more passengers were split from the original booking.

  • Has anyone else had issues getting the full 100k points awarded? I was only given 50k points upon meeting the spend criteria. They think they don't have any evidence of it. I've had to provide screenshots of the deal and now waiting on an answer.

Wow. First I've heard of it. I signed up on the 7th March and the 100k points went until the 18th March. Surely they would have this on their systems?

    • Did you sign up before March 18 (or March 11 if you used a referral code)? The deal was quite publicised, should be able to find the page archived somewhere even.

    • no issues I got the full 100k

  • Got my 100k points in my account today. Very happy.

    • Do it. It worked for me

I'd probably do it weekday to be safe as that's when their staff are in-office. I did it for a family member on April 9 and worked.

  • Anyone know if the supplement card holders can access to the Centurion lounge by themselves - without accompany with the main card holder?

  • My wife's application got finally approved. Does the application period start when you submitted the application or when it's approved? As it's only 50k points now but application was submitted on the 11th March when the points were 100k

The offer they saw at the time of sign-up, if it showed 100k and they followed the link from the page where it stated 100k, you should receive 100k.

  • To those have done the book flight and then cancel to get full refund, do I need to book business class or any ticket from Qantas would be fine as long as it $450 or more?

any qantas ticket (i booked a economy return to melbourne for $489.38 to redeem the $450 travel credit)

      • I can't find anything that more than $400 for Syd <-> Melb !!!

Friends! Can confirm the $450 travel voucher hack works as of yesterday!

        I booked via Amex.
Must be Qantas flight and charge to Qantas Amex card (obviously). Once you got the booking confirmation, go to Manage Flight and cancel it. Did that within 1hr after made the booking.

The travel credit was in my account a day after. Then pending charge for the flight got drop off about 5 days later.

  • My wife got the 100k points in the first month before hitting the 5k minimum spend or being charged the annual card fee.
