Tint Recommendation for Heat

G'day all,

I'm after some recommendations for window tinting, specifically looking for the best heat reduction and the darkest legal tint for all 6 windows.

At the moment, I’m considering the Suntek Evolve Ceramic (94% heat reduction) and Black Panther Ceramic (99% heat reduction).

Are there any other options I should be looking into?

Also, if anyone can recommend a tinting company in Melbourne that offers a tint blocking over 90% infrared heat, I’d appreciate the heads-up!

Cheers!

  • Best heat reduction is darkest legal tiny plus mesh screen

Dont get too carried away with the 'best' heat reduction, loks for other featurea and benefits. While it makes a difference, the difference between 94 amd 99% will not be a noticeable change in heat transfer. A lot of the heat comes in via the roof anyway.

    • Thanks and yep, planning to go with 94% as they are like $350 cheaper.

But seeing if they are good products or not and what people think is the best product in Australia as all tints aren't equal

Obviously the '6' won't apply to the windscreen. AFAIK it's illegal to apply any film to frontal view via w/screen. Unless you are POTUS,of course.

    • Incorrect can apply it to the front and is legal.

      • State?

        • All states, the front strip. Most people forget that and tell customers you can't do it at all.
You can tint the top of the front window.

          • @michael9865: mate the strip is nothing unless you drive a van

            • @askbargain: Had strip on my Honda civic made a big difference for me interms of the sun shining in my eyes.
Getting it now for my dual cab.

        As per transport.vic.gov
"Tinting on windscreens is only acceptable if they are darkened during the manufacturing process. Films can't be applied to windscreens, except for the top section, as described below."

Exactly, most people forget the strip

          • @michael9865: Yes but "A strip" does not a windscreen make. And obtuse angle doesn't = a triangle.

You cannot tint the windscreen, just a horizontal Brazilian, that's it.
You also said all 6 windows, not 'part' windows

              @Protractor: Still 6 windows.
Part is a descriptive word which is optional

@michael9865: Best not to give gullible people ,stupid ideas about covering the full windscreen though, innit? I mean, better to educate than to insinuate.
The correct answer is you might get away with that* strip*, but if a testy cop and then a court determines it's too dark or too wide, even that can be found illegal.

  • Auntie evolve is a good quality ceramic film. It’s worth spending extra money for its heat rejection properties.

You’ll still get heat coming in through the windscreen, but that can be managed.
