Anyone Recommend a Cheap Aux Battery Replacement (LiFePo4 or AGM) for a Hybrid?

Got a PHEV with a small 25x15x20cm AGM in the boot.

Can't believe the stock battery is around $600 (for such a small AGM).

It doesnt do much except powers the main ECU, and peripherals when the car isnt on.

Ie. Power windows, lights, radio could be driven if the car isn't in on position. When on, the main traction battery powers everything.

Factory AGM is 300CCA. Doesn't need to be, as it does no cranking. Has a vent tube, but could simply add one to any AGM.

Anyone recommend anything.

AGM or LiFePo4 (somehow these are cheaper!!)

Cheers

  • Aldi have this for $299 but not sure if it suits your requirements.

  • SolarKing the local Aussie brand that kind of famous for their 12V LFP battery as they appeared all over the news recently where their Melbourne warehouse burnt down with over 3000s batteries inferno covered the whole area in thick plump fiery smokes.

    • Fire sale? Poor buggas …

    LiFePo4

    That was a good movie…

LiFePo1 was so much better. The 4th was to derivative and just a cynical money grab.

    Ops next post

"car blew up because of cheap battery, will insurance cover it?"

  • What car is it? Exide have some cheap AGM batteries, I'm not sure how good they are. If it's a Panasonic battery you can get them cheaper through everybattery.com, should last 10 years if you look after it.
