  • Nice find. I think this is the cheapest yet. Great toothbrush. Did you get the model in that picture or the model with the LED indicator lights?

  • Still an awesome deal, but $10 postage to 6105.

shipping was discounted when i went through to the confirmation page. If you put in estimate it was say $10 but then will take it off before confirmation

  • Dagnabbit! I was reading up about it.

  • At least I don't have the urge to buy it anymore.

“Purchase Period”) from one of the following participating stores: Shaver Shop, Myer, David Jones, Harvey Norman, The Good
Guys and other electrical retailers (“Participating Stores”):

is bigw one of the participating stores?

  • Cheaper than the Target deal half a year ago by $0.50

  • +1

I am looking for this product for few weeks, actually Myer did a promo which was $169 for a dual pack in Oct. $119 for 2 toothbrushes after cash back.
David Jones is doing $188 (dual) now but myer didn't match that price. Myer' price was $199 before boxing day.

    • wendy,
      dual is iq5000 and iq3000, not 2x iq5000 fyi

The brush is alright, but honestly haven't notice the difference between the cheap $20 version. After a couple of months the battery will die and power decrease :( A lot of issues, if you look around the net.

    • I've had mine for 18 months and not had an issue…

  • Yes this is a great price, but be aware that the battery will die out on you after about a year. Kinda pointless if you have to change the handle that often.

    • +2

Then you are covered by the 2 years warranty. Please immediately replace your faulty toothbrush with a new one.

    • i've had mine for 4 years now and it's still fine.

  • Not a fan of these rotating heads because of the potential wear implications.

I'd rather the Oral B vibrating toothbrushes you can get from Pharmacies for about $10 - rechargeable AAA battery. The supermarkets have them, but for some reason don't tend to stock the soft heads, which are meant to be best.

    • unlikely to occur, the bristles are very soft and fine unlike medium/hard bristles as found in manual t/b. you also have to consider if you're using an abrasive t/paste?…

    • The heads don't rotate - they oscillate. Actual linear movement is tiny, so the difference in wear between these and a vibrate-only ("sonic") type would be minimal, if indeed it was measurable at all.

  • all of this advice - how many of you are dentists?

    just asking!

(I'm an optometrist (so I can't show you my face) and I am often amused by the "advice" on here and boards like whirlpool on matters that I know better about, so just wondering if dentists have any better opinions on matters such as those raised here)

    • +1

I saw a dentist on TV once.
      Does that count?

Actually i think one of my dentists warned me off them (i keep a couple, in different states), but yeah, i take your pointy prod.

BTW, why are spectacle frames so expensive?

      • "I saw a dentist on TV once"

Was his name Dave, but he couldnt show you his face because he was on television?
(or am I just showing my age remembering such an old ad)

    • i'm an oral health therapist. - we recommend electric toothbrushes mainly due to the lack of ability to brush manually due to loss of dexterity and such. Not everyone should have one, those who have excellent brushing techniques (subjective) will gain no extra benefit.

Why is this so expensive? That doesn't seem cheap at all?
I think I have a braun (or Oral B) and it was like 30 or 40$ for a rechargable, cordless toothbrush. What is this thing doing that makes it worth 30$ more on a special deal?

    • A little bit fancy smart guide monitor makes you feel like more than just brushing your teeth?

  • Sold out online?

  • +3

For those comparing to cheapo $30 brushes, go do some research. It's all in the motor.

    • +2

It's actually very hard to believe how good they are unless having a test drive. In my opinion, they really worth $100 extra (not the monitor though).

  • FYI, the Oral B Professional Care 500 is still available online for $69.30, less $30 cashback makes it $39.30
